Henri Marthe Sylvie Rolin (Ghent, 3 May 1891 – Paris, 20 April 1973) was a Belgian socialist politician, first part of the Belgian Workers' Party (POB-BWP) and later of its successor, the Belgian Socialist Party (PSB-BSP). Career Rolin served as a senator for the POB-BWP, later the PSB-BSP; a position which he held from 1932 until 1968. In 1942 he was named Minister of Defence in the Belgian government in exile, but was later forced to resign the wake of a mutiny in the Free Belgian Forces over inactivity. In 1946 he became Minister of Justice. In 1947 and 1949 he served as President of the Senate. Maurice Auguste Count Lippens (21 August 1875 – 12 July 1956) was a noble Belgian businessman, politician, and colonial civil servant and lawyer. Born into an influential Liberal family, Lippens practiced as a lawyer before entering local politics in his native province of East Flanders. His business interests included a number of colonial companies. After serving as governor of East Flanders (1919–21), Lippens was recruited to serve as Governor-General of the Belgian Congo (1921–23) in which capacity he launched a major administrative reform. After resigning from the post following disagreement with the colonial administration in Belgium, Lippens returned to his business career and re-entered Belgian politics. After serving in a number of ministerial position, his political career culminated in an appointment as President of the Senate (1934–36). Charles Magnette
Charles Magnette (; 3 February 1863 – 18 October 1937), was a Belgium, Belgian lawyer and a Liberal Party (Belgium), liberal politician. He was List of Presidents of the Belgian Senate, President of the Belgian Senate from 1928 until 1932 and Minister of State. He was Grand Master of the Grand Orient of Belgium two times (from 1914 to 1921 and from 1925 to 1927). Magnette was the founder of the International Masonic Association in 1921. In 1914 and 1916 he appealed to the Germany, German Grand Lodges, complaining about the atrocities which were committed by the Germans, who occupied most part of Belgium during World War I, World War I, and the deportation of workers. As a result, he served a prison sentence. A street in Liège is named after him. His brother was the historian Félix Magnette. Paul-Louis-Marie-Célestin, baron de Favereau (15 January 1856 - 26 September 1922) was a Belgian politician and member of the Catholic Party. Life Born in Liège, he became a doctor of law before serving as member of the Belgian Parliament for the arrondissement of Marche-en-Famenne (1884-1900). On 16 September 1884 he married Marie-Charlotte Frésart (1864-1947), with whom he had Edith-Paul-Adeline-Marie-Joseph-Ernestine-Elisabeth de Favereau, later wife of Charles-Albert d'Aspremont Lynden and mother of Harold Charles d'Aspremont Lynden. De Favereau also became Foreign Minister (1896-1907) and senator for the Province of Luxembourg (1900-1922). He was made a minister of state in 1907.
