Lucie Awards
The Lucie Awards is an annual event honoring achievements in photography, founded in 2003 by Hossein Farmani. The Lucie Awards is an annual gala ceremony presented by the Lucie Foundation (a 501 (c)3 non-profit charitable organization), honoring photographers and their achievements. The Lucies bring together photographers from all over the world and pay tribute to their colleagues. Every year, the Advisory Board nominates individuals for their contributions to photography across a variety of categories, and once the nominations are tallied, they are pre-announced months before the Lucies. Local Testimony
Local Testimony is a regional photojournalism exhibition for photographers from Israel and the Palestinian Authority, held every year since 2003 in the Eretz Israel Museum. The exhibition is held alongside the World Press Photo exhibition, presenting photographs from the field of photojournalism. Details The photographs in the exhibition are selected by a panel of judges. Photographs are divided into several categories. Three images are selected in each category: first, second and third place. In addition to categories, Photo of the Year and Series of the Year are chosen by the jury. The Overseas Press Club of America (OPC) was founded in 1939 in New York City by a group of foreign correspondents. The wire service reporter Carol Weld was a founding member, as was the war correspondent Peggy Hull.
