Narding Anzures
Bernardo “Narding” Anzures (1928–1949) was a Filipino film actor and convicted murderer. The son of actors Miguel Anzures and Rosa Aguirre, Anzures had starred in pre–World War II films as a child actor under Sampaguita Pictures & LVN Pictures. After the war, he was paired with Lilian Velez in three films produced by Filippine Films & Philippine Pictures Inc., such as ''Binibiro Lamang Kita'', ''Ang Estudyante'', and ''Sa Kabukiran'' which was directed by Velez's husband, Jose Climaco. In 1948, LVN Pictures decided to cast Jaime de la Rosa as Velez's leading man in her next picture. Manuel Conde
Manuel Conde (born Manuel Pabustan Urbano; October 9, 1915 – August 11, 1985) was a Filipino actor, director and producer. As an actor, he also used the screen name Juan Urbano during the 1930s aside from his more popular screen name. Early career His first film was ''Mahiwagang Biyolin'' in 1935. He made almost three dozen films under LVN Pictures as a contract star. Rudy Concepción
Rodolfo Joaquín Concepción, (1912 – 1940) was a popular Filipino film actor during the 1930s. He was dubbed ''Ang Idolong Kayumanggi'' (Brown Idol). Career Concepción made his film debut in 1935, in ''Kundiman ng Puso'' (''Song of the Heart''). He was often paired romantically in films with the soprano Rosario Moreno, with whom he co-starred in ''Mapait na Lihim'' (1938). Concepcion himself was also a notable singer, with a distinctive singing style. Unusual for actors of the time, his own singing voice was used. After six movies for Sampaguita Pictures, becoming one of its most bankable stars, Concepción signed with another production company Excelsior Pictures, where he made ''Pakiusap'', ''Ikaw Pa Rin'', ''Tunay Na Ina'' (opposite Rosario Moreno), and his last unfinished movie ''Mahal Pa Rin Kita''. Sampaguita Pictures was a Philippine film production company. It was named for the Philippine national flower, sampaguita. Though no longer functioning, the company's Sampaguita Compound remains in Quezon City. History Sampaguita Pictures was established in the last quarter of 1937. Its first feature-length film was ''Bituing Marikit'', starring Elsa Oria and Rogelio dela Rosa. It was a box-office hit. The company continued to make films in the action, musical, horror and suspense genres. Before World War II began, and the Japanese occupied the Philippines, several Sampaguita films enjoyed box office success in the region. Some of them employed the famous tandem of Carmen Rosales and Rogelio dela Rosa, like ''Panambitan'', ''Pagsuyo'', ''Jazmin'' and many more. Justina David, sometimes credited as Justiniana David, was a mid-20th century Filipina film actress, often appearing as a martyred wife, a peasant, or a hopeless mother. Her career began before World War II and extended to the late 1960s.
