An epithet (, ), also byname, is a descriptive term (word or phrase) known for accompanying or occurring in place of a name and having entered common usage. John The Hairy
John the Hairy (russian: Иоанн Власатый, also known as John the Merciful of Rostov) was a holy fool (Yurodivy), of the Russian Orthodox Church in the second half of the 16th century. He endured a great many trials in his lifetime. "He did not have a permanent shelter, and at times took his rest at the house of his spiritual Father, a priest at the church of the All-Holy, or with one of the aged widows." According to Orthodox Church in America sources, Blessed John, Living in humility, patience and unceasing prayer... spiritually nourished many people, among them St Irenarchus, Hermit of Rostov (January 13). After a long life of pursuing asceticism, he died on September 3, 1580 and was buried, according to his final wishes, beside the church of Saint Blaise beyond the altar. Henk Overgoor
Hendrikus Johannes Paulus Overgoor (30 April 1944 – 23 April 2020) was a Dutch footballer who played as a left back. He was born in Gendringen, Netherlands. He played for Go Ahead Eagles from 1963 to 1965 and for De Graafschap from 1965 to 1979. Club career With De Graafschap he won the 1968–69 Tweede Divisie and spent 4 years in the Eredivisie. He played a total of 393 league and cup matches for the ''Superboeren'', which put him fourth on the club's all-time appearances table. He was nicknamed ''De Kapper'' (The Hairdresser) because he came from a hairdressing family. He scored in the heroic 5-7 defeat at Feyenoord in October 1973, in which he scored but also almost choked in his chewing gum only for Guus Hiddink to hit him in the back and regaining his breath. The Hairy Bikers are collectively David Myers and Si King. The pair of British celebrity chefs have presented numerous television shows, mostly for the BBC but also for the Good Food channel, that combine cooking with a motorcycling travelogue. They have made numerous series and published a range of accompanying cookery books. Myers and King, who both have backgrounds in television production, have known each other since the 1990s.
