Royal Tunbridge Wells
Royal Tunbridge Wells is a town in Kent, England, southeast of central London. It lies close to the border with East Sussex on the northern edge of the High Weald, whose sandstone geology is exemplified by the rock formation High Rocks. The town was a spa in the Restoration and a fashionable resort in the mid-1700s under Beau Nash when the Pantiles, and its chalybeate spring, attracted visitors who wished to take the waters. Though its popularity as a spa town waned with the advent of sea bathing, the town still derives much of its income from tourism. The town has a population of around 56,500, and is the administrative centre of Tunbridge Wells Borough and in the parliamentary constituency of Tunbridge Wells. Martin Edward Corry MBE (born 12 October 1973) is a retired English rugby union player who represented and captained and Leicester Tigers in a career spanning 14 seasons. Corry played 64 times for between 1997 and 2007, played 7 tests for the British & Irish Lions on tours in 2001 & 2005, and played 290 times for Leicester between 1997 and 2009. Earlier in his career he played top division rugby for Newcastle Gosforth and Bristol. Paul Leslie Condon, Baron Condon, (born 10 March 1947) is a British retired police officer. He was the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police from 1993 to 2000. Education Condon read Jurisprudence at St Peter's College, Oxford and was made an Honorary Fellow in 1996. Career Policing Paul Condon joined the police in 1967. He became Chief Constable of Kent in 1989 and Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police in 1993 at the age of 45, the youngest person to do so, stepping down in 2000. George Cohen
George Reginald Cohen (22 October 1939 – 23 December 2022) was an English professional footballer who played as a right-back. He spent his entire professional career with Fulham, and won the 1966 World Cup with England. He was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame, and was the uncle of rugby union World Cup winner Ben Cohen. Playing career Fulham Cohen was a one-club footballer, joining Fulham professionally in 1956 and remaining there until retirement through injury 13 years later in March 1969. Fulham had been relegated to the Second Division the season before he retired as a player and did not return to the top flight for 33 years. Ballard Blascheck (6 August 1904 – 16 January 1988), known professionally as Ballard Berkeley, was an English actor of stage and screen. Thomas Harrison Burder (1789–1843) was an English physician and author. Life Thomas Harrison Burder was born in 1789 at Coventry in England, where his father George Burder was a Congregationalist minister. His elder brother, Henry Forster Burder DD, was born in 1783, and also became a minister. T H Burder originally wanted to become a chemist, but after a while he decided to pursue the medical profession.
