Cyrus Pallonji Mistry
Cyrus Pallonji Mistry (4 July 1968 – 4 September 2022) was an Indian businessman. He was the chairman of the Tata Group, an Indian business conglomerate, from 2012 to 2016. He was the sixth chairman of the group, and only the second (after Nowroji Saklatwala) not to bear the surname ''Tata''. In mid-2012, he was chosen by a selection panel to head the Tata Group and took charge in December that year. In October 2016, the board of Tata Group's holding company, Tata Sons, voted to remove Mistry from the post of chairman. Former chairman Ratan Tata then returned as interim chairman, and Natarajan Chandrasekaran was named as the new chairman a few months later. However, in December 2019, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) declared the appointment of Chandrasekaran as executive chairman illegal, and restored Mistry. Cyrus Homi Chothia (19 February 1942 – 26 November 2019) was an English biochemist who was an emeritus scientist at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) at the University of Cambridge and emeritus fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge. Education Chothia was educated at Alleyn's School, then went to study at Durham University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. Chothia then completed a Master of Science degree at Birkbeck College in 1967 and a PhD from University College London under the supervision of , the son of Linus Pauling. Cowasji Jehangir Readymoney
Sir Cowasji Jehangir Readymoney, CSI (24 May 1812 – 19 July 1878) was a Parsi community leader, philanthropist and industrialist of Bombay, India. Family and background Cowasji Jehangir Readymoney came from a wealthy Parsi family. His great-grandfather and two great-uncles had moved in the early 18th century from Navsari near Surat to Bombay and had become pioneers in the lucrative opium trade with China. The brothers were cash-rich and worked as bankers to various British clients, and they earned for themselves the sobriquet "Readymoney," which they later adopted as a surname. Among the three brothers, only Hirji Jewanji Readymoney was blessed with surviving issue, two daughters. He arranged in the usual Indian way for them to marry into families of their own community and similar background. Cowasji Dinshaw Adenwalla
Cowasji Shavaksha Dinshaw (Adenwalla) (1827–1900) was a trader who emigrated from Surat/Bombay. The family name ''Adenwalla'' ("from Aden") was a later addition, and is the name by which he is today remembered. Cowasji travelled extensively and set up trading posts in other British possessions/protectorates, most notably on the east-African coast in Zanzibar and Mombasa. He was however best known for his business acumen, and the foresight that Aden would become an important port within the framework of the (modern-day) Suez Canal. He had an entire floating dock shipped from Britain in 1895 and was known locally as "Dinshaw Pontoon". Cowasjee Jehangir
Sir Cowasji Jehangir, 2nd Baronet, (16 February 1879 – 17 October 1962) was a prominent member of the Bombay Parsi community. He was the son of Sir Jehangir Cowasji Jehangir Readymoney, 1st Bt. (1853–1934) and grand-nephew of Sir Cowasji Jehangir ''Readymoney'' (1812–1878). He was educated at St John's College, Cambridge. Cowasji Jehangir campaigned for a prominent role for the Parsi Zoroastrian community in independent India. He had become a member of the "Western India National Liberation Federation", at its founding in 1919, and was elected its president in 1936 and 1937. He was also active in the reactionary "Parsee Central Committee", which was critical of Congress Parsis like Dadabhai Naoroji and Pherozeshah Mehta. Byramjee Jeejeebhoy CSI (1822–1890) was an Indian businessman and philanthropist who founded several education institutions in Bombay. The Byramjee Jeejeebhoy College and the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsee Charitable Institution in Charni Road, South Mumbai, Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College in Pune and the B. J. Dinshaw J. Patel is an Indian-American structural biologist who holds the Abby Rockefeller Mauzé Chair in Experimental Therapeutics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
