Suzanne Schulting
Suzanne Schulting (; born 25 September 1997) is a Dutch short track speed skater who is also active as a long track speed skater. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, she won the Netherlands' first-ever gold medal in short track speed skating and became one of the youngest-ever Dutch Winter Olympic champions. She is also a two-time overall World Champion (2019, 2021) and three-time overall European Champion (2019, 2020, 2021), and the current world record holder for 1000m. Biography Schulting took up short track speed skating when she was eight years old in Thialf, Heerenveen. She won a gold medal in the 1500m event at the 2016 World Junior Championships in Sofia. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, she won a bronze medal in the 3000m relay and a gold medal in the 1000m. This was the first time the Netherlands had ever won a gold medal in short track speed skating. Short Track Speed Skating At The 2022 Winter Olympics – Women's 3000 Metre Relay
The women's 3000 metre relay competition in short track speed skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 9 February (semifinals) and 13 February (finals), at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing. The event was won by Suzanne Schulting, Selma Poutsma, Xandra Velzeboer, and Yara van Kerkhof, representing the Netherlands. They set a new Olympic record in Final A. It was the first time a European team won the event. South Korea won silver, and China bronze. The defending champion were South Korea, with Italy and the Netherlands being second and third in 2018. The Netherlands were the 2021 World Short Track Speed Skating champion, France and Italy are the silver and bronze medalists, respectively. Yara Van Kerkhof
Yara van Kerkhof (; born 31 May 1990) is a Dutch short track speed skater. She won the silver medal in the 500 m event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Career Van Kerkhof competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for the Netherlands. In the 500 metres she was second in her heat, advancing to a quarter-final, where she finished third, not advancing. In the 1500 metres she again advanced out of the first round, but was fifth in her semi-final, not advancing. She also competed in the 1000 metres, finishing third in her heat. As a member of the Dutch 3000 metre relay team, she was disqualified in the heats, again not advancing. Her best individual finish was in the 500m, where she was 11th. As of September 2014, van Kerkhof's best performance at the World Championships came in 2011, when she won a silver medal as a member of the Dutch 3000m relay team. Selma Poutsma (born 14 May 1999) is Dutch short track speed skater who previously competed for France. Biography In 2014 Poutsma moved to France and competed for the French short track speed skating team, winning the bronze medal in the relay at the 2018 European Short Track Speed Skating Championships. Short Track Speed Skating At The 2022 Winter Olympics – Women's 1500 Metres
The women's 1500 metres competition in short track speed skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 16 February, at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing. Choi Min-jeong of South Korea, the defending champion, won the event. Arianna Fontana of Italy won the silver medal, and Suzanne Schulting of the Netherlands bronze. The silver medalist, Li Jinyu, did not compete. The bronze medalist, Kim Boutin, qualified. Schulting was the 2021 World Short Track Speed Skating champion at all distances, including 1500 m.
