Yang Haoran
Yang Haoran (; born 22 February 1996) is a Chinese sport shooter. He has collected a career tally of fourteen medals (nine golds and five silver) and broke eight world junior records in air rifle shooting at major international competitions, spanning the Youth Olympics, Asian Games, World Championships, and World Cup series. Having pursued the sport since age 12, Yang trained full-time as a member of the Chinese shooting team, at the sports academy in Chengde, under his personal coach and 2000 Olympic champion Cai Yalin. Yang took part in his first international competition as a 17-year-old at the 2013 ISSF World Cup final meet in Munich, Germany, where he claimed the gold medal in the 10 m air rifle, finishing in first with 205.9 points, ahead of World Champion Niccolo Campriani. Shooting At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's 25 Metre Rapid Fire Pistol
The men's ISSF 25 meter rapid fire pistol event at the 2016 Olympic Games took place on 12 and 13 August 2016 at the National Shooting Center. There were 26 competitors from 20 nations. The event was won by Christian Reitz of Germany, the nation's first victory in the event and fifth overall (most of any nation). Reitz, the bronze medalist in 2008, was the 12th man to win multiple medals in the rapid fire pistol. Jean Quiquampoix of France took silver, the nation's first medal in the event since 1900. China took bronze, just as in 2012, this time by Li Yuehong. The medals were presented by Austin Sealy, IOC member, Barbados and Franz Schreiber, Secretary General of the International Shooting Sport Federation. Christian Reitz (born 29 April 1987) is a German 25 metre rapid fire pistol shooter, the current world record holder. Career He rose to fame during 2005, the first year with the new equipment rules, but was defeated in that year's European Junior Championships by teammate Philipp Wagenitz before finishing his junior career with victories in the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships and the 2007 European Championships. In his first year as a senior, Reitz won two World Cup competitions and was the runner-up behind three-time Olympic champion Ralf Schumann at another, equalling the world record with a 591 score in Milan, and raising Schumann's final world record from 790.0 to 794.0. 25 Metre Rapid Fire Pistol
25 meter rapid fire pistol is one of the ISSF shooting events and is shot with .22 LR pistols. The event has been a part of the Olympic program ever since the beginning in 1896, although its rules changed greatly before World War II, after which they were only slightly changed until the two major revisions of 1989 and 2005. The latter restricted the event to sport pistols, thereby banning .22 Short cartridge (last used in 2004 and replaced by .22 Long Rifle in 2005) as well as encircling grips and low trigger-pull weight. This caused a decline in results, as evidenced by a comparison of the world records under the pre-2005 rules (597) and post-2005 rules (593). Shooting At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's 50 Metre Pistol
The men's ISSF 50 meter pistol event at the 2016 Olympic Games took place on 10 August 2016 at the National Shooting Center. There were 41 competitors from 29 nations. The event was won by Jin Jong-oh of South Korea, his third consecutive victory in the free pistol. He was the only man to win two gold medals in the event, much less three. Jin was also the second man to win four medals of any color in the event, after Ragnar Skanåker of Sweden from 1972 to 1992. Hoàng Xuân Vinh took silver, the first medal for Vietnam in the event. Kim Song-guk's bronze was North Korea's first medal in the free pistol since 2004 (the nation had a silver medal stripped in 2008 due to doping). Jin Jong-oh
Jin Jong-oh (진종오; ; born 24 September 1979) is a South Korean sports shooter who competed at the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. The only individual four-time Olympic champion in shooting, he is the most successful individual shooter at the Olympics, being the only athlete to have won three consecutive Olympic gold medals in an event (men's 50 metre pistol) in shooting. He holds the world record in both 10 metre air pistol and 50 metre pistol and held the final world record in 50 metre pistol until Jitu Rai broke it in 2017. Alexander Remmovich Melentyev (russian: Алекса́ндр Ре́ммович Меле́нтьев; 27 June 1954 – 16 February 2015) was a Soviet Union, Soviet competitive shooting sports, sport shooter who won a gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics. The world record he set in 1980 remained unbeaten for 34 years. He was the first Olympic gold medalist from Kyrgyzstan. Bio Melentyev was born in the Russian city of Penza but grew up in the Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic, Kyrgyz SSR. At the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, Melentyev achieved a world record result of 581 (from 600, without final) in the 50 m Pistol, 50 m pistol event in setting a new world and a new Olympic record. 50 Metre Pistol
The 50 meter pistol, formerly and unofficially still often called Free Pistol, is one of the ISSF shooting events. It provides the purest precision shooting among the pistol events, and is one of the oldest shooting disciplines, dating back to the 19th century and only having seen marginal rule changes since 1936. Most of the changes concern distance (30m, 50m, 50 Yards), caliber (.22 .22lr .44CF), type of pistol (revolver only, revolver or pistol, any pistol), time allowed (16 hours, 6 hours, 3 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour and 15 minutes), and most recently, format of the finals (carry over scores, start from zero, number of shots fired in the finals).
