List Of Number-one Songs Of 2016 (Mexico)
This is a list of the number-one songs of 2016 in Mexico. The airplay chart rankings are published by Monitor Latino, based on airplay across radio stations in Mexico using the Radio Tracking Data, LLC in real time. Charts are ranked from Monday to Sunday. The streaming charts are published weekly by AMPROFON (Asociación Mexicana de Productores de Fonogramas y Videogramas). Chart history (airplay) In 2016, nineteen songs reached number one on the General chart, the biggest amount since the chart started in 2007. Of these, fourteen songs were entirely or mostly in Spanish, and the remaining five were entirely in English (also the biggest amount since the chart was founded). Thirteen acts achieved their first number-one song in Mexico: Coldplay, Maluma, Twenty One Pilots, Joey Montana, Wisin, Justin Timberlake, Daddy Yankee, DJ Snake, Justin Bieber, Pharrell Williams, Bia, Sky and Los Plebes del Rancho. Airplay is how frequently a song is being played through broadcasting on radio stations. A song which is being played several times every day (spins) would have a significant amount of airplay. José Álvaro Osorio Balvín (born 7 May 1985), known professionally as J Balvin, is a Colombian singer and songwriter. He has been referred to as the " Prince of Reggaeton" (from Spanish: "Príncipe del Reggaetón"), and is one of the best-selling Latin artists, with over 35 million records. Balvin was born in Medellín. At age 17, he moved to the United States to learn English, where he lived in both Oklahoma and New York. El Perdedor (Maluma Song)
"El perdedor" ( en, "The Loser") is a song by Colombian singer Maluma taken from his second studio album ''Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy'' (2015). Sony Music Latin released it as the album's third single on 9 February 2016 following fan demand. It was written by JY (El De La J) and Maluma alongside Kevin Mauricio Jiménez, Bryan Snaider Lezcano Chaverra and Miky la Sensa. Two remix versions were available for purchase; one featuring Puerto Rican singer Yandel and the other being an EDM version. Remigio Alejandro Valenzuela Buelna, known as Remmy Valenzuela (born 2 October 1990), is a Mexican singer, songwriter and accordionist. He was nominated for the "New Artist of the Year" at the Latin American Music Awards of 2015 and his album ''Mi Vida en Vida'' was nominated for the Best Norteño Album at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2015. Calibre 50
Calibre 50 () is a Regional Mexican band founded in the city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa in 2010. Their style is Norteño-Banda, a hybrid of Norteño, which uses an electric bass or tololoche for the low notes and replaces it with a sousaphone (tuba), which is typically used in Banda for the bass notes. History Before establishing Calibre 50, Edén Muñoz had been the accordionist and vocalist in the Norteño-banda group, Colmillo Norteño. With Muñoz, the group scored the hit songs "Sueño guajiro" and "Hotel El Cid" in 2009, among others. Nevertheless, conflicts with the other members of the band led Muñoz to quit Colmillo Norteño in early 2010, and he founded his own band later that year, recruiting Armando Ramos as guitarist and backing vocalist, Martín López as sousaphonist, and Augusto Guido as drummer. La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho, or simply La Arrolladora, is a Mexican banda from Mazatlán, Sinaloa. In 1997 they signed with Sony Music Latin. In 2003, they switched labels and signed with Disa Records. History Banda El Limón was formed in 1965 in El Limón de los Peraza, Sinaloa by Pedro Aramburo, Encarnación Peraza, Lino Quintero, Carlos Peraza and Pedro Peraza. The Banda began performing in the port of Mazatlán, and in 1976, Salvador Lizárraga assumed the direction of the Banda. In 1997, internal conflicts arose in the Banda, as René Camacho assumed the temporary direction while Salvador Lizárraga was recovering from a stroke. Banda Los Recoditos is a Mexican Banda formed in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. It was founded in 1989 by friends and family members of Banda el Recodo by Cruz Lizárraga. Alfonso Lizárraga and Pancho Barraza, the first vocalists, were two of the more than dozen bandmembers comprising the original incarnation of the band.
