List Of Nottingham Cricket Club Players
This is a complete list, in alphabetical order, of cricketers who played for Nottingham Cricket Club in first-class cricket matches. Nottingham played a total of 15 first-class matches, 13 of them between 1826 and 1834 and two in 1848 after the establishment of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club in 1841. Teams played under the Nottinghamshire name from 1829 onwards and many of the players listed also played for Nottinghamshire teams. A Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire combined team also played one match in 1803 which has been given first-class status and Nottinghamshire sides played eight first-class matches between 1835 and 1840. Players who played in matches for these teams or Nottinghamshire only are not included in this list. Note that many players represented other teams besides Nottingham.Nottingham Players

Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Joe Guy (cricketer)
Joseph Guy (30 July 1813 – 15 April 1873) was an English professional cricketer who played first-class cricket from 1837 to 1854. A right-handed batsman and occasional wicket-keeper who was mainly associated with Nottinghamshire, he made 149 known appearances in first-class matches. He represented the Players in the Gentlemen v Players series and was an original member of William Clarke's All-England Eleven. He also played for Hampshire. Radford, Nottingham
Radford is an inner-city area of Nottingham, located just outside the city centre. The appropriate ward of the City of Nottingham Council is called Radford and Park with a population of 21,414. It is bounded on the south by Lenton and Nottingham City Centre, and comprises around of land. History St Peter's Church, Radford was given by William Peveril to Lenton Priory. The church was rebuilt in 1812 at a cost of £2,000. The Wesleyan chapel was built in 1805 and enlarged in 1828. In September 1878 a chapel was built on St Peter's Street by the United Methodist Free Churches at a cost of £1,900. It was closed owing to declining membership and income in June 1947 and purchased by the Evangelical Free Church.
