Contributions To Zoology
''Contributions to Zoology'' (formerly known as ''Bijdragen tot de Dierkunde'') is a scientific journal that started in 1848 as a publication of the Committee in charge of the library of the Dutch Royal Zoological Society "Natura Artis Magistra" and became integrated in the library of the University of Amsterdam in 1939. Since 2019 the journal is published by Brill publishers, Leiden. The journal has been freely available online since 1997. The current editor-in-chief is Ronald Vonk from Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden. Contributions to Zoology solicits high-quality papers in all systematics-related branches of comparative zoology (including paleozoology). Preference is given to manuscripts dealing with conceptual issues and to integrative papers (e.g., ecology and biodiversity, morphology and phylogeny and character state evolution, phylogeny and historical biogeography, systematics and bioinformatics, bioinformatics and biodiversity, habitat disturbance and biogeography, e ...

European Journal Of Taxonomy
The ''European Journal of Taxonomy'' is a peer-reviewed open access scientific journal for descriptive taxonomy of living and fossil eukaryotes, covering subjects in zoology, botany, and palaeontology. It is supported by the EJT Consortium, a group of European natural history institutes, which fully funds the publication. Therefore, the journal is free for both authors and readers (diamond open access). History The journal was initiated by a task force of people from the European Distributed Institute of Taxonomy network. The first article was published on 9 September 2011. In October 2015, the Consortium of European Taxonomic Facilities endorsed the journal. Several older journals have been merged into the ''European Journal of Taxonomy'': *''Journal of Afrotropical Zoology'' *''Bulletin de l'Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique, Entomologie'' *''Bulletin de l'Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique, Biologie'' *''Bulletin de l'Institut Royal des Sciences N ...

Camaenidae
Camaenidae is a family of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Helicoidea, the typical snails and their allies. This is one of the most diverse families in the clade Stylommatophora. These snails occur in a wide variety of habitats in the tropics of Eastern Asia and Australasia. A large American group, which is mainly represented by species from the Caribbean, has, until recently, also been subsumed under the Camaenidae. However, latest molecular phylogenetic studies showed that these species represent a different family, the Pleurodontidae. This molecular study also implies that the Bradybaeninae, previously being treated as a distinct family within the Helicoidea, is a junior synonym of the Camaenidae. Anatomy Camaenid shells are often quite large (25–50 mm), but a number of species also have small shells (<5 mm). Shells reveal a remarkable diversity in shape and colour, which is partly linked with their ...
