Walter Tavares
Walter Samuel "Edy" Tavares da Veiga (born 22 March 1992) is a Cape Verdean professional basketball player for Real Madrid of the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He was selected with the 43rd overall pick in 2014 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks and has played internationally for the Cape Verde national basketball team. Tavares receives praise as a physical phenomenon, standing tall and possessing a wingspan. After being scouted in his hometown, Tavares started playing for Gran Canaria in 2009. He was drafted in the 2014 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks were he played one season. In 2017, Tavares signed with Real Madrid where he became a star player, winning one EuroLeague title and three All-EuroLeague Team selections, as well as several domestic accolades. Maurice De Shawn Taylor (born October 30, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player. He played power forward and center positions. Originally from Detroit, Taylor played college basketball at Michigan and was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers as the 14th overall pick in the 1997 NBA draft. Taylor played from 1997 to 2007 in the NBA for the Clippers, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, and Sacramento Kings. From 2009 to 2011, Taylor played internationally in Italy and China. College career Taylor attended the University of Michigan. The athletic forward, from Henry Ford High School in Detroit, burst onto the national scene during the 1994 Maui Invitational with fellow freshman Maceo Baston. Johnny Taylor (basketball)
Johnny Antonio Taylor (born June 4, 1974) is an American former basketball player who is currently an assistant coach for the Osceola Magic. Before his coaching career, Taylor played college basketball at the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga, earning So-Con Player of the Year Honors in 1997. Taylor went on to be the 17th overall pick in the 1997 NBA draft, playing for the Orlando Magic and Denver Nuggets during his NBA tenure. In 2000, Taylor continued his professional career overseas, playing with teams in Italy, Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Lebanon, Belgium, Japan, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates until he retired in 2012. Jermaine Taylor (born December 8, 1986) is an American professional basketball player. Taylor was a starting guard for the University of Central Florida basketball team before being selected with the 32nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards, and soon after traded to the Houston Rockets. High school career Taylor attended Tavares High School in Tavares, Florida. As a senior at Tavares High School, Taylor averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists per game. He finished his senior year second in the Florida Class 3A Player of the Year voting and was named to the Florida Class 3A All-State First Team. Isaiah Shaquille Taylor (born July 11, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for Žalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and the EuroLeague. Jeffrey Taylor (January 1, 1960 – March 2020) was an American professional basketball player. He played for three years at Texas Tech University, before being drafted by the Houston Rockets in the 1982 NBA Draft. Taylor played one season with the Rockets in the 1982-83 NBA season, and another with the Detroit Pistons in the 1986-87 NBA season. Cornelius F. "Jay" Taylor Jr. (October 3, 1967 – July 4, 1998) was an American professional basketball player. Taylor, a guard from East Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois, played college basketball at Eastern Illinois. He finished his career with 1,926 points and graduated as EIU's all-time leading scorer (since passed by Henry Domercant). Roland Morris "Fatty" Taylor (March 13, 1946 – December 7, 2017) was an American professional basketball player. A 6’0" guard born in Washington, D.C. and an alum of La Salle University, Taylor joined the American Basketball Association in 1969. After one year playing for the Washington Capitals, he moved on to the Virginia Squires, with whom he spent the prime of his career, tallying 3,495 points, 1,737 assists, and 1,715 rebounds in five seasons. Taylor became known as one of the few outstanding defensive players in a league known primarily for a "run-and-gun" style. On the Squires Taylor played with former or later NBA stars including Adrian Smith, "Jumbo" Jim Eakins and Julius "Doctor J" Erving.
