List Of NHL On-ice Officials
In ice hockey, an official is responsible for enforcing the rules and maintaining order. On-ice officials are present on the ice during the game, and traditionally wear a shirt with black and white vertical stripes. The National Hockey League (NHL) currently employs four on-ice officials in each game—two referees and two linesmen. Referees are identified by their red or orange armbands. They are responsible for the general supervision of the game, assess penalties, and conduct face-offs at the beginning of each period and after a goal is scored. When play is stopped for another reason, the face-offs are conducted by the linesmen. The linesmen are primarily responsible for violations involving the centre line and blue lines, such as icing and offside infractions. Peter MacDougall (ice Hockey)
Lieutenant Peter Aitken MacDougall (or McDougal) (11 August 1898 – 18 August 1955) was a Scottish World War I flying ace credited with seven aerial victories. Biography MacDougall was born in Lerwick, the son of Major Peter MacDougall, a schoolmaster at the Central Public School, and his wife Florence. After leaving school he worked for the Union Bank of Scotland, before joining the Royal Flying Corps as a cadet in 1917, and being commissioned as a temporary second lieutenant (on probation) on 21 June. He was confirmed in his rank and appointed a flying officer on 23 August. MacDougall was posted to No. 24 Squadron RFC. Frederick L'Ecuyer
Frederick L'Ecuyer (born 28 July 1977) is a Canadian ice hockey referee, employed by the National Hockey League. He has worn the number 17 since the start of the 2010-11 NHL season. Quebec Major Junior Hockey League career L'Ecuyer's first Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game came in the 1999-00 QMJHL season, when he worked as a linesman.
