Crognaleto
Crognaleto is a ''comune'' and city of slightly less than 2,000 people in the Province of Teramo, central Italy. Crognaleto sits at an elevation of and has its communal administrative offices in the ''frazione'' (outlying area) of Nerito. The commune of Crognaleto sits on the slopes of the Monti della Laga mountain range and extends across both the northern and the southern slopes of the Vomano Valley. It lies within the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. History There is evidence of pre-Roman settlements in the area in and around Castagneto although the location was likely only very sparsely populated until the Middle Ages. Cortino
Cortino ( Abruzzese: ') is a small town and ''comune'' in the central Italian region of Abruzzo in the Province of Teramo. It is located in the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. The major part of the population lives in small hamlets dotting the comune. In recent years the population of Cortino has been decreasing as people have moved to larger and more developed Teramo. The Cortino communal archives were almost completely destroyed in 1943. Prior to 1816, when it was still part of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, Cortino was one of 29 mountain villages which formed the "Stato di Roseto", in what was then known as Abruzzo Ulteriore I, known today as the Province of Teramo. Corropoli
Corropoli (locally ''Currùppië'') is a town and ''comune'' in Teramo province in the Abruzzo region of eastern Italy. In recent years the town has had a population of just under 4000 individuals. The commune has approximately 1300 families and 1500 habitations. The gentilic for the town is Corropolesi. Corropoli takes its name from the word "Ripoli", an ancient neolithic settlement located nearby. These ruins were discovered by Concezio Rosa, a physician from Corropoli, in 1871. Controguerra ( Abruzzese: ', ') is a town and ''comune'' in Teramo province in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. Controguerra DOC Controguerra is noted for the Italian DOC wine produced in the hills and a valley near the comune. The area produces a wide variety of wine styles including, red, white, passito and spumante. Grape harvest are limited to yields of 14 tonnes/ha. Civitella del Tronto () is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Teramo, within the Abruzzo region of central Italy. It is in the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park.
