List Of Mountains And Hills Of The Rhön
This is a list of mountains and hills of the Rhön, a low mountain range in the Central Uplands of Germany that straddles the three federal states of Bavaria, Hesse and Thuringia. This list includes summits within the Rhön Mountains and its foothills, taking in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve and the nature parks of the Bavarian Rhön Nature Park, Bavarian Rhön, Hessian Rhön Nature Park, Hessian Rhön and, where it belongs to the Rhön, the Hessian Spessart. The table currently shows mountains over 900 metres high. It will be extended over time. Central Uplands

Wasserkuppe Airfield
The Wasserkuppe (;) is the highest mountain in the Rhön range and the tallest elevation in the German state of Hesse, standing at above sea level. It forms a prominent plateau within the Fulda district and is known as the "cradle of gliding". Great advances in sailplane development took place here during the interwar period, driven by annual contests. To this day, an airfield near the summit continues to be used by gliding clubs and light aircraft pilots. Etymology The German name is derived from ''Wasenkuppe, Asenberg'' or ''Weideberg'' and means ''Pasture mountain''. Geography The Wasserkuppe lies in the administrative district Fulda north of Gersfeld. Other villages nearby are Poppenhausen ( west - south west) and Wüstensachsen ( east, part of Ehrenberg, Hesse). Hessen

Landkreis Fulda
The Fulda District (; ) is a Districts of Germany, ''Kreis'' (district) in the north-east of Hesse, Germany. Neighboring districts are Hersfeld-Rotenburg, Wartburgkreis, Schmalkalden-Meiningen, Rhön-Grabfeld, Bad Kissingen (district), Bad Kissingen, Main-Kinzig, Vogelsbergkreis. History The district was created in 1821, when the duchy of Fulda became a province of Hesse, and was split into four districts. In 1866 the north of Hesse became a part of Prussia, including the Gersfeld area which previously belonged to Bavaria. Reulbach
Ehrenberg is a municipality in the district of Fulda, in Hesse, Germany. Geography The municipality is located in the centre of the wildlife park "Hessische Rhön" in a level of 450 up to 900 meters and approx. 30 km from Fulda. Most of its districts are situated in the valley of the river Ulster and are crossed by the interstate road B278. Only Reulbach is in another valley.
