Moths are a paraphyletic group of insects that includes all members of the order Lepidoptera that are not butterflies, with moths making up the vast majority of the order. There are thought to be approximately 160,000 species of moth, many of which have yet to be described. Most species of moth are nocturnal, but there are also crepuscular and diurnal species. ''Ethmia cubensis'' is a moth in the family Depressariidae. It is found in Cuba and Jamaica. The length of the forewings is . The ground color of the forewings is pale greyish, heavily mottled with darker, especially the longitudinal streaks.
