Jaime Humberto Hermosillo
Jaime Humberto Hermosillo Delgado (22 January 1942 – 13 January 2020) was a Mexican film director, often compared to Spain's Pedro Almodóvar. Born in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, in central Mexico, Hermosillo's films often explore the hypocrisy of middle-class Mexican values. He worked with Gabriel García Márquez on ''Mary My Dearest'' (1979) and ''The Summer of Miss Forbes'' (1988). His film ''Homework (1991 film), Homework'' (1991) was entered into the 17th Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Special Mention. At the time of his death Hermosillo was teaching film-making at the University of Guadalajara and had recently collaborated with his students on several projects. On 13 January 2020, Hermosillo died at the age of 77, 9 days before his 78th birthday. The Festival do Rio is an international film festival in Rio de Janeiro Rio de Janeiro ( , , ; literally 'River of January'), or simply Rio, is the capital of the state of the same name, Brazil's third-most populous state, and the second-most populous city in Brazil, after São Paulo. Listed by the GaWC as a .... The festival was the result of a 1999 merger of two previous film festivals, the Rio Cine Festival and the Mostra Banco Nacional de Cinema. Founded in 1984 and 1988 respectively, the two festivals were held within a period of two months between each other. The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) is a film festival that runs for two weeks in June each year. Established in 1947, it is the world's oldest continually running film festival. Carlos Reygadas Castillo (; born October 10, 1971) is a Mexicans, Mexican filmmaker. Influenced by existentialist art and philosophy, Reygadas' movies feature spiritual journeys into the inner worlds of his main characters, through which themes of love, suffering, death, and life's meaning are explored. Reygadas has been described as "the one-man third wave of Cinema of Mexico, Mexican cinema"; his works are generally considered art films, and are known for their Expressionism, expressionistic cinematography, long takes, and emotionally charged stories. ''Japón'' ( en, Japan) is a 2002 film by the Mexican director Carlos Reygadas. It was Reygadas' debut feature, which was shot on anamorphic 16-millimeter film in a 2.88:1 screen aspect ratio. Plot summary The film follows a man going through an acute existential crisis. He leaves Mexico City to go out to the country and prepare for his death, staying with an old indigenous widow in her ramshackle home overlooking a desolate canyon. In the vastness of a wild and impressive nature, he confronts the infinite humanity of the widow and oscillates between cruelty and lyricism. His senses become dull, arousing his desires and instincts for sexuality and life. Arath De La Torre Balmaceda (born March 20, 1975) is a Mexican actor and comedian, best known for his roles in the television series '' Una Familia con Suerte'' as Pancho López and the critically acclaimed and popular novelas '' Soñadoras'' and '' Amigas y Rivales''. Biography At the age of 17 he moved from Cancún to Mexico City in order to study at the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA).
