Irma Serrano
Irma Consuelo Cielo Serrano Castro (; born 9 December 1933) is a Mexican singer, actress and politician. Famous for her "tantalizing", "untamed spitfire" voice, she is one of the most noted performers of the ranchera and corrido genres; she was nicknamed ''La Tigresa de la Canción Ranchera'' and later known simply as "''La Tigresa''" (). At the same time, she developed a film career of more than a dozen films. In the 1970s and 1980s, Serrano achieved great success as an actress and producer in a series of controversial stage plays, highlighting the controversial play ''Naná'' (1973). In the decade of the 1990s, she also ventured into politics and occupied a seat in the Mexican Senate. In her later years, she was the center of multiple scandals and controversies. Luis Fernando Allende Arenas (born November 10, 1952) is a Mexican singer, actor, painter, film producer, and film director. Early life Allende was born in Mexico. His father is Mexican, and his mother is from Cuba. Allende's grandfather on his father's side was Puerto Rican. Both grandparents on his mother side are from Spain. By the late 1960s, Allende had ventured into Spanish-language soap operas as well as photo soap operas (magazine soap operas widely produced during the 1970s in many Latin American countries). His matinee idol looks helped Allende become a teen idol across Latin America. Career During the early 1980s, Allende moved to Hollywood, and had respectable success in the "movie capital of the world" landing major roles in important productions. Fanny Cano
Fanny Cano Damián (28 February 1944 – 7 December 1983) was a Mexican actress and producer. Death Cano died on 7 December 1983, in an airplane accident in Madrid, Spain. Her flight was an Iberia 727 which was about to take off for Rome in connection to final destination India, at the same time as an Aviaco DC 9 was leaving to Santander. The aircraft collided with each other on the runway resulting in 93 deaths. She was killed in the fire after the crash. Her spouse, Sergio, was scheduled to be on the flight, but was called away on business at the last moment and was not on board. Felipe Cazals (28 July 1937 – 16 October 2021) was a Mexican film director, screenwriter, and producer. His wife was Rosa Eugenia Báez de Cazals. Together with Arturo Ripstein, Cazals was considered in Mexico one of the most representative film directors of his generation. With his films ' (1986), ''Las Poquianchis'' (1976), ''El Apando'' (1976), and '' Canoa'' (1976), he was considered to be one of the most creative and bitter-critical filmmakers in the history of Latin American movies. ''Canoa'' was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear - Special Jury Prize. Wolf Ruvinskis
Wolf Ruvinskis (October 31, 1921 – November 9, 1999), born Wolf Ruvinskis Manevics, was a Latvian-Mexican actor and professional wrestler. He was married to dancer Armida Herrera. Born to a Latvian mother and a Ukrainian father, of Jewish background, they relocated to Argentina in 1923. In spite of living in extreme poverty he excelled in sports and as a professional wrestler he toured South America, the United States and Mexico. This last country became his place of residence where he stayed in the ring well into the 1960s, wrestling El Santo, Black Shadow, El Médico Asesino and Lobo Negro. As a wrestler he was introduced to the Cinema of Mexico playing ''luchadores'', in particular a masked character he created called ''Neutrón''. He also belongs to the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Ana Bertha Lepe Jiménez (; 12 September 1934 – 24 October 2013) was a Mexican actress and beauty queen. In 1953, she was Señorita México (Miss Mexico) and the third runner-up at the Miss Universe contest. Career She made her film debut in ''La justicia del lobo'' (1952) her first of many films, she then entered and won the Miss Mexico contest. In 1955, she filmed in Cuba ''Una gallega en La Habana''. In 1959, she participated in ''Señoritas'' with Christiane Martel, the Miss Universe 1953 in the year Lepe obtained third place. She is internationally known for her starring role as Gamma in ''La nave de los monstruos'' (1960), a classic science fiction comedy co-starring Eulalio González "Piporro" and Lorena Velázquez. Mario Fortino Alfonso Moreno Reyes (12 August 1911 – 20 April 1993), known by the stage name Cantinflas (), was a Mexican comedian, actor, and filmmaker. He is considered to have been the most widely-accomplished Mexican comedian and is celebrated throughout Latin America and in Spain as a popular icon. His humor, loaded with Mexican linguistic features of intonation, vocabulary, and syntax, is beloved in all the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America and in Spain and has given rise to a range of expressions including ''cantinflear'', ''cantinflada'', ''cantinflesco'', and ''cantinflero''. Though some of his films were translated into English and French, the wordplay was so particular to Mexican Spanish that it was difficult to translate.
