Stortinget
The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. A member of Stortinget is known in Norwegian as a ''stortingsrepresentant'', literally "Storting representative". The assembly is led by a president and, since 2009, five vice presidents: the presidium. The members are allocated to twelve standing committees as well as four procedural committees. Three ombudsmen are directly subordinate to parliament: the Parliamentary Intelligence Oversight Committee and the Office of the Auditor General. Aud Blattmann (26 September 1937 – 5 June 2023) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. Biography Blattmann was born in Kristiansand on 26 September 1937. Anneliese Dørum (3 October 1939 – 4 November 2000) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She was born in Trondheim. She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus in 1985, and was re-elected on three occasions. She had previously served in the position of deputy representative during the terms 1977–1981 and 1981–1985. During her fourth term in Parliament, she died and was replaced by Rikke Lind. Finn Thoresen
Finn Thoresen (21 January 1932 – 30 May 2004) was a Norwegian businessman and politician for the Progress Party. He was a member of the central administration of the Progress Party (then Anders Lange's Party) from 1973 to 1976, and was chairman of its Østfold chapter from 1974 to 1975. From 1983 to 1990 he was the deputy mayor of Ski. He was elected deputy Member of Parliament (MP) for the Progress Party from Akershus from 1981 to 1985, and in 1989 he was elected as a regular MP. In November 1992 he however left the party, citing strong disagreements with the influence and development of the Youth of the Progress Party, which he claimed had "misunderstood" liberalism. Thor-Eirik Gulbrandsen (15 July 1940 – 25 July 2014) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. Gulbrandsen was born in Fjære. Jan Petersen
Jan Petersen (born 11 June 1946, in Oslo) is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. Petersen was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus in 1981, and was re-elected on six occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the term 1973–1977. From 2001 to 2005, when the second cabinet Bondevik held office, Petersen was Minister of Foreign Affairs. During this period his seat in parliament was held by André Oktay Dahl. On the local level Petersen was a member of Oppegård municipal council from 1967 to 1983, serving as mayor from 1975 to 1981. He chaired the Conservative Party from 1994 to 2004. Karin Cecilie "Kaci" Kullmann Five (; 13 April 1951 – 19 February 2017) was a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. She served as a Member of Parliament from 1981 to 1997, as Minister of Trade and Shipping in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1989 to 1990 and as leader of the Conservative Party from 1991 to 1994. Fridtjof Frank Gundersen
Fridtjof Frank Gundersen (29 October 1934 – 11 November 2011) was a Norwegian professor of jurisprudence and politician. He worked as a lector at the Faculty of Law of the University of Oslo from 1965 to 1975. In 1975 he became professor of jurisprudence at the Norwegian School of Economics. Gundersen was elected a Member of Parliament in 1981 representing the Progress Party platform, but did not formally join the party until 1990. He fell out of parliament in 1985, but was re-elected for three consecutive four-year terms from 1989. He left the party in 2001, and failed to get re-elected to parliament again in the election later the same year, having stood for a local electoral list. Solveig Torsvik (born 30 December 1954 in Stange, Norway) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. Torsvik was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus in 1993, but was not re-elected in 1997. She had previously served in the position of deputy representative during the term 1981–1985, 1985–1989 and 1989–1993.
