The Salón de la Fama del Beisbol Profesional de México (in English, Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame), commonly called the Salón de la Fama (Hall of Fame) is a baseball hall of fame and museum located in Monterrey, Nuevo León. Josh Gibson
Joshua Gibson (December 21, 1911 – January 20, 1947) was an American baseball catcher primarily in the Negro leagues. Baseball historians consider Gibson among the best power hitters and catchers in baseball history. In 1972, he became the second Negro league player to be inducted in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Gibson played for the Homestead Grays from 1930 to 1931, moved to the Pittsburgh Crawfords from 1932 to 1936, and returned to the Grays from 1937 to 1939 and 1942 to 1946. In 1937, he played for Ciudad Trujillo in Trujillo's Dominican League and from 1940 to 1941, he played in the Mexican League for Azules de Veracruz. Gibson served as the first manager of the Cangrejeros de Santurce, one of the most historic franchises of the Puerto Rico Baseball League. Al Pinkston
Alfred Charles Pinkston (October 22, 1917 – March 18, 1981) was an American Negro league and Mexican League baseball player. Life and career A native of Newbern, Alabama, Pinkston played one game for the Cleveland Buckeyes of the Negro leagues in 1948. He played in the Provincial League in the early 1950s and won the league's triple crown in 1952 for the St. Hyacinthe A's. Pinkston went on to play minor league baseball for such clubs as the Ottawa Athletics, Columbus Jets and Amarillo Gold Sox, and spent several years in the Mexican League into the mid-1960s, eventually earning induction into the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974. On June 27, 1962, his son, Adrián Chávez, was born. Alejandro Aguilar Reyes (May 2, 1902 - November 12, 1961), who also wrote under the pseudonym Fray Nano, was a Mexican sportswriter and co-founder of the Mexican League, the first professional baseball league in Mexico. He founded the first daily sports newspaper, '' La Afición''. He was selected to the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971. Career in baseball By the age of 23, Reyes had already gained recognition as a sportswriter under the pseudonym Fray Nano. The name came from his younger brother's mispronunciation of "Alejandro" as "Nano". Reyes added Fray, which is a Spanish word for a religious brother.
