List Of Members Of The Maharashtra Legislative Council
This is a list of current and past members from the Maharashtra Legislative Council State. The state elects members for a term of six years. 30 members are indirectly elected by the state legislators. 22 members are elected from Local Authorities Constituency, 7 from Graduates Constituency and 7 from Teachers Constituency. The Governor of Maharashtra nominated up to 12 members from eminent people from various fields. Maharashtra Legislative Council
The Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad or Maharashtra Legislative Council is the upper house of the bicameral legislature of Maharashtra states and territories of India, state in western India. Location The seat of the Vidhan Parishad is situated at the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. The budget session and the monsoon session are convened in Mumbai whereas the winter session is convened in the auxiliary capital Nagpur. M. A. Aziz (born 30 September 1939) is a former judge of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and former Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh. Early life Aziz was born on 30 September 1939 in Amboula, Agailjhara Upazila, Barisal District, East Bengal, British India. He completed Matriculation in 1956, and in 1958 completed his Higher Secondary Certificate. He finished his bachelor's degree in history at the University of Dhaka in 1961 and Masters in 1962. In 1969, he was called to bar at law at the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in London, United Kingdom. He started his practice at the High Court. Career In 1986, Aziz became a judge at the Bangladesh High Court in June 1996. Nanasaheb Boraste
Baji Bajirao (8 December 1720 – 23 June 1761), also known as Nana Saheb I, was the 8th Peshwa of the Maratha Confederacy in India. He was appointed as Peshwa in 1740 upon the death of his illustrious father, the Peshwa Bajirao I. During his tenure, the Chhatrapati (Maratha Emperor) was a mere figurehead. At the same time, the Maratha empire started transforming into a confederacy, in which individual chiefs—such as the Holkars, the Scindias and the Bhonsles of Nagpur kingdom—became more powerful. Chhagan Bhujbal
Chhagan Bhujbal (born 15 October 1947) is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. Currently he is Member of 14th Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra from Yeola Assembly. He also served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 18 October 1999 – 23 December 2003. He earlier also served as Minister of Public Works Department and Minister of Home Affairs in Government of Maharashtra. Political career Bhujbal is an OBC leader.
