This is a list of members of the Diet of Japan. The Diet has two chambers: the House of Councillors (upper house) and the House of Representatives (lower house). Councillors serve six year terms, with half being elected every three years. Representatives serve terms of up to four years, but the House of Representatives can be dissolved, causing a shorter term (snap election). Hokkaido 2nd District
is a single-member electoral district for the House of Representatives, the lower house of the National Diet of Japan. It is located in Sapporo, the prefectural capital of Hokkaido and consists of the Higashi ("East") ward and most of the Kita ("North") ward. The current Representative is Kenko Matsuki, member of the CDP. He won the seat in a special election in April 2021 and was reelected in the general election later that year. Matsuki was formerly a representative of the Hokkaido 12th district. The Representative from the district from 2012 to 2020 was Liberal Democrat Takamori Yoshikawa. Constitutional Democratic Party (Japan)
was one of the main political parties in pre-war Empire of Japan. It was commonly known as the ''Minseitō''. History The ''Minseitō'' was founded on 1 June 1927, by a merger of the ''Kenseikai'' and the ''Seiyu Hontō'' political parties. Its leadership included Osachi Hamaguchi, Wakatsuki Reijirō, Yamamoto Tatsuo, Takejirō Tokonami, Adachi Kenzō, Koizumi Matajirō and Saitō Takao. Daiki Michishita
is a Japanese politician of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan and a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). Biography A native of Shintoku, Hokkaido and a graduate of Chuo University, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2017 after having served in the Hokkaido Prefectural Assembly for three terms. Hokkaidō 1st district (北海道 区, ''Hokkaidō- ai-kku'') is a single-member constituency of the House of Representatives, the lower house of the national Diet of Japan. Kibō No Tō
was a conservative political party in Japan founded by Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike. The party was founded just before the call of the 2017 general election.
