Marwan Tabbara
Marwan Rached Tabbara (born August 23, 1984) is a former Canadian politician who represented the riding of Kitchener South—Hespeler in the House of Commons of Canada from 2015 to 2021. He was first elected in the 2015 federal election as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada and re-elected in 2019. Tabbara resigned from the Liberal caucus in 2020 after he was charged in connection with an alleged assault and sat as an independent member for the remainder of the 43rd Canadian Parliament. He did not seek re-election in the 2021 Canada federal election. Early life Marwan Tabbara was born in Beirut, Lebanon on August 23, 1984. Four years later, his family migrated to Canada to flee the ongoing Lebanese Civil War. Paul Tardif
J. Paul Tardif (February 18, 1908 – August 3, 1998) was an Ontario businessman and political figure. He represented Russell in the House of Commons of Canada as a Liberal from 1959 to 1968. He was born in Ottawa in 1908, the son of A.-T. Tardif and Marie Côté. In 1933, Tardif married Cecile-H. Quesnel. Tardif served as school commissioner, a member of Ottawa city council, city controller and deputy mayor. He was first elected to parliament in a 1959 by-election held after the death of Joseph-Omer Gour. After his term in office, Tardif served ten years as a citizenship court judge. Filomena Tassi is a Canadian politician who has served as the Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario since August 31, 2022. Quebec East (also known as Québec-Est and Québec East) was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 2004. While its boundaries changed over the decades, it was essentially made up of the eastern part of Quebec City and was largely of working class composition. It was created in 1867. Joseph Tassé
Joseph Tassé (23 October 1848 – 17 January 1895) was a Canadian writer, translator, and parliamentarian. Born in Lower Canada (now part of modern Laval Quebec), Tassé as a young man studied the Classics at the Collège Bourget. Upon graduation he articled in law offices in Montreal, Plattsburgh, New York, and Ottawa. However, he never practised law, and instead pursued a career in journalism. From the 1860s, he was employed by newspapers such as Ottawa's '' Le Canada'', and Montreal's ''La Minerve'' in 1868. Though he would eventually rise to become its editor, he was initially employed by ''La Minerve'' as a translator, a role he would revisit in 1872, when he became the official translator for the House of Commons of Canada. During this period, Tassé also became interested in the history of the Canadian West, and began to publish a series of articles on French-Canadian explorers of the west. Beauce is a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1867. In 2006, it had a population of 103,617 people, of whom 82,123 were eligible voters. The Beauce riding has the highest percentage of people who answered "Canadian" as their ethnic origin in the 2006 Census (84.0%; multiple responses). It is also the riding with the highest percentage of Whites of European descent (99.3%). Thomas Linière Taschereau
Thomas Linière Taschereau (October 8, 1850 – May 29, 1901) was a lawyer and political figure in Quebec. He represented Beauce in the House of Commons of Canada from 1884 to 1887 as a Conservative Party of Canada member. His name appears in some sources as Jean-Thomas Linière Taschereau or Linière Taschereau. He was born in Sainte-Marie, Canada East, the son of seigneur Thomas-Jacques Taschereau and Marie Anne Amable Fleury de la Gorgendière. Taschereau was educated at Ste. Anne de la Pocatiere, the Collège Sainte-Marie in Montreal and Université Laval. Montmagny (federal Electoral District)
Montmagny was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1935. This riding was created by the ''British North America Act'', 1867. It consisted initially of the County of Montmagny. In 1882, the northeastern part of the Township of Armagh in the County of Bellechasse, and the northeastern part of the township of Mailloux, were transferred from Bellechasse to Montmagny. In 1924, it was redefined to consist of the County of Montmagny and the Ile-aux-Grues and adjoining islands. Henri Thomas Taschereau
Sir Henri-Thomas Taschereau (October 6, 1841 – October 11, 1909) was a lawyer, politician and judge in Quebec, Canada. The son of Jean-Thomas Taschereau, Taschereau received his basic education at the Petit Séminaire de Québec from 1851 to 1859. He then entered Université Laval where he received a law degree in 1862 and was called to the bar of Lower Canada in 1863. After passing the Bar of Quebec, he practised law in Quebec and soon built a large practice. He also pursued an interest in politics and began publishing a short-lived newspaper. Various forays into public life followed and in 1872 was elected to the House of Commons of Canada. By age 37 his reputation earned him an appointment to the Quebec Superior Court and he served there until 1901 sitting as judge in many important trials.
