Paulette Guajardo is an American politician currently serving as the mayor of Corpus Christi, Texas. Guajardo had previously served as a city council member. Mayor of Corpus Christi, Texas Paulette Guajardo first announced her campaign for mayor on August 13, 2020. Following a stall during the November 3 election, the mayoral race was directed into a runoff election. The runoff election for mayor was held on December 15, 2020, with Guajardo defeating Joe McComb, the incumbent mayor. On January 12, 2021, Guajardo was sworn in as mayor of Corpus Christi. Henry Pomeroy Miller
Henry Pomeroy "Roy" Miller (March 27, 1883 – April 28, 1946), once the "boy mayor of Corpus Christi", was a Texas newspaperman, politician, and lobbyist influential in both the state capital Austin and national capital Washington, D.C. He represented sulphur interests in Texas. Early life As a boy, he worked as a soda jerk and had three newspaper routes in Houston, until he finished high school as valedictorian at age 15. He attended University of Chicago on a scholarship, waited tables, and tutored other students. He was among six lower division students to win a University Prize for excellence in declamation (summer, 1901) and took part in the Freshman Sophomore debate on whether England was right in the Second Boer War (March 15, 1902). He finished his four-year curriculum in three years. After college, he was a reporter (and railroad editor) at the Houston Post. Joe Adame
Joseph Anthony Adame (born October 20, 1945) is former mayor of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born to Gumercinda and Cayatanio Adame in Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi TX. He graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in 1963, then attended Del Mar College in 1964. In 1969, he graduated from Sam Houston State with a Bachelor of Business Administration. In 1970 he became a licensed Texas real estate broker, and now runs Joe Adame & Associates, a commercial real estate brokerage. He has served as a past member on the Texas Real Estate Advisory Board at Texas A&M University – College Station, then chairman from 1997–2006.
