This is a list of games created by Maxis. Maxis is an American video game developer that was founded in 1987 and became a division of Electronic Arts (EA) in 1997. Maxis' second software title was the seminal ''SimCity (1989 video game), SimCity'', a city simulation and planning Video game, game. Maxis is the creator of the best-selling PC game of all time, ''The Sims (video game), The Sims'', and its sequel, ''The Sims 2''. These three titles and their related products are the brand's most popular and successful lines. Most of the Maxis titles are simulation-based, though none are considered traditional simulations. Maxis founder Will Wright likens them as "digital dollhouses". Maxis has also released games developed by other production houses, such as ''A-Train'' and ''SimTower''. The studio was founded in 1987 by Will Wright (game designer), Will Wright and Jeff Braun, and acquired by Electronic Arts, EA in 1997. RoboSport
''RoboSport'' is a 1991 in video gaming, 1991 turn-based tactics computer game. It was created by Edward Kilham and video game developer, developed and video game publisher, published by Maxis. The player creates teams of robots and maneuvers them around a board to map out one "turn" of movement. The is a home video game console developed by Sega and released on November 22, 1994, in Japan, May 11, 1995, in North America, and July 8, 1995, in Europe. Part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, it was the successor to the successful Sega Genesis. The Saturn has a dual- CPU architecture and eight processors. Its games are in CD-ROM format, and its game library contains several ports of arcade games as well as original games. Development of the Saturn began in 1992, the same year Sega's groundbreaking 3D Model 1 arcade hardware debuted. The story is based on concepts and characters from Greek mythology. Billboard called it "a landmark effort in the realm of live-action games." The game is played from the point of view of a young royal child who is prophesied to take his parents' kingdom. He is abandoned to the wolves on a mountainside, but is discovered by the centaur Chiron and raised by him. When the character is grown, Chiron gives the young man a ring that was found in his baby blankets and a few gems and then sends him out into the world. ''SimHealth: The National Health Care Simulation'' is a management simulation video game developed by Thinking Tools and published by Maxis in 1994 for MS-DOS with assistance from the Markle Foundation. It is a simulation of the United States healthcare system. The game was released during congressional debates on the Clinton health care plan. Due to the complexity of the game, ''SimHealth'' was seen as being very difficult. Armed with none of the tongue-in-cheek humor that Maxis' prior games were known for, the only real link to the franchise was the ''SimCity 2000''-inspired user interface. OS/2 (Operating System/2) is a series of computer operating systems, initially created by Microsoft and IBM under the leadership of IBM software designer Ed Iacobucci. As a result of a feud between the two companies over how to position OS/2 relative to Microsoft's new Windows 3.1 operating environment, the two companies severed the relationship in 1992 and OS/2 development fell to IBM exclusively. ''El-Fish'' is a fish and fish-tank simulator and software toy developed by Russian game developer AnimaTek, with Maxis providing development advice. The game was published by Mindscape (v1.1) and later by Maxis (v1.1 + v1.2) in 1993 on 5 diskettes. Each fish in ''El-Fish'' has a unique Roe, similar to the genome. This allows the user to catch fish and use selective breeding and mutation to create fish to their own tastes for placing them in virtual aquariums.
