The 9th Chamber of Deputies is the assembled legislature of the lower house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic following the election held on 8 and 9 October 2021. All 200 Members of Parliament (MPs) were elected to serve a 4-year term. The Parliament of the Czech Republic ( cs, Parlament České republiky) or just Parliament ( cs, Parlament) is the legislative body of the Czech Republic, seated in Malá Strana, Prague. Petr Bendl
Petr Bendl (born 24 January 1966) is a Czech politician, who served as Minister of Agriculture from October 2011 to July 2013 in Cabinet of Prime Minister Petr Nečas and briefly as Minister of Transport under leadership of Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek. Bendl is a former governor of the Central Bohemian Region after serving two terms. He was Member of the Chamber of Deputies (MP) between 2010 and 2017. Bendl is a graduate at Engineering and Textile University in Liberec. After a short spell as firefighter, he worked as director of Kladno district office and municipal office's departments. In 1991 Bendl entered the Civic Democratic Party and as the party's leader he was elected member of the Kladno city assembly in 1994 becoming mayor of the city immediately. Marek Benda
Marek Benda (born 10 November 1968) is a Czech politician and member of the Civic Democratic Party. He is currently the longest serving member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. He is the son of Václav Benda. Biography Benda studied at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University from 1988 to 1990. He left the school during the Velvet Revolution as he was involved in politics. He later unsuccessfully studied at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague but failed due to his poor knowledge of foreign languages. Benda later studied law at the University of West Bohemia from 2003 to 2008. He reportedly passed a post-masters examination and earned a Doctor degree, but it was later revealed that his post-masters thesis was merely a work of plagiarism and he did not receive the degree. Martin Baxa
Martin Baxa (born 16 September 1975) is a Czech politician who has served as the Ministry of Culture (Czech Republic), Czech Minister of Culture in Petr Fiala's Cabinet since December 2021. He has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Chamber of Deputies (MP) for the Civic Democratic Party (Czech Republic), Civic Democratic Party (ODS) since October 2017. Jaroslav Bašta
Jaroslav Bašta (born 15 May 1948) is a Czech politician and diplomat. He is a signatory of Charter 77. Between 1998 and 2000 he served in the cabinet of Miloš Zeman as Minister without portfolio. Bašta became the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Russia in September 2000. He served for five years in Russia, later becoming Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ukraine, where he worked for three years until stepping down due to health reasons in 2010. In 2021, he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD). On 10 September 2022, SPD announced it would nominate Bašta for the 2023 Czech presidential election. He was also endorsed by the Tricolour Citizens' Movement and the Workers' Party of Social Justice (DSSS).
