Davao Del Norte Sports Complex
The Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex (DNSTC) is a sports complex in Tagum, Davao del Norte, Philippines, and is the largest sports complex in the Davao region. It was built on the area of the former Davao Sports Complex, torn down by fire in 2003. Construction began and ended on two significant dates: 11-11-11 (11 November 2011) and 12-12-12 (12 December 2012). The complex is the main hub for the 2015 Palarong Pambansa events, including the opening and closing ceremonies. The stadium is now the home of Philippines Football League outfit Davao Aguilas F.C. since their founding in 2017. The 2017 Palarong Pambansa was the 60th edition of the Palarong Pambansa and was held from April 23 to 29, 2017 in Antique. Student athletes from 18 athletic associations representing the 18 regions of the Philippines competed in different sporting events and disciplines. Bidding Two provinces remained after Negros Occidental, Cebu and Iloilo backed-out of the bid to host the annual multi-sports event in 2017 due to budget difficulties, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique and Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental showed interest in hosting the event and officially submitted their respective bids to the Palarong Pambansa bids and selection committee. 2016 Palarong Pambansa
The 2016 Palarong Pambansa was the 59th edition of the annual multi-sporting event for Filipino student-athletes. Athletic associations from the country's 18 regions were competed in different sporting events and discipline. The games were held at the Bicol University Sports Complex, in Albay Province, from April 10–16, 2016. Negros Island Region which was created in 2015, participated for the first time in the Palarong Pambansa as a region. Bidding As of May 6, 2015, Only Albay has formally submitted a bid to host the games.
