Lebanese In Sweden
The Lebanese people of Sweden are people from Lebanon or those of Lebanese descent who live in the country of Sweden. The majority of Lebanese people came in Sweden in the period between 1970s and 1980s, either escaping the Lebanese Civil War or for economic reasons. In 2016, there were 148 registered emigrations from Sweden to Lebanon. The Lebanese people in Sweden have set up their own traditional cultural and political organizations, including the Swedish Lebanese Friendship Association (SLFA). There is a Lebanese embassy in Stockholm. Most Lebanese in Sweden belong to various Christian denominations ( Maronite, Greek Orthodox, Melkite Catholic, Protestant), but there is also a sizable number of Muslims ( Sunni and Shi'a) and also some Druze. Mohamed Ramadan ( ar, محمد رمضان; born 4 April 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for Swedish club Heleneholms SK. Born in Sweden, Ramadan is of Lebanese descent and holds dual-citizenship. He represented Lebanon internationally once, in 2015. Club career As a youngster, Ramadan played for Kvarnby IK until he joined Helsingborgs IF in July 2010. On 9 May 2011, he made his debut against Gefle IF coming off the bench in the 86th minute. Elias Zazi (born 1964 in Beirut, Lebanon) is a Swedish-Assyrian composer and a theorist in music. Zazi also teaches music and works as a music critic and writer to a daily newspaper in Södertälje, Sweden.
