Constitution Bench (India)
Constitution bench is the name given to the benches of the Supreme Court of India which consist of at least five judges of the court which sit to decide any case “involving a substantial question of law as to the interpretation” of the Constitution of India or "for the purpose of hearing any reference" made by the President of India under Article 143. This provision has been mandated by Article 145 (3) of the Constitution of India. Also, matters related to the Amendment of an Act of the Indian Parliament are referred to the Constitution Bench by the Supreme Court under the same act. Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar (born 26 May 1965 in Punjab, India) was a former professor . He was convicted by a TADA court in a 1993 Delhi bomb blast case that left nine people dead and injured 31. The Indian supreme court had confirmed his death sentence in a fractured and divided decision. His death sentence has been commuted to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court of India on 31 March 2014. A chemical engineering professor by profession, he taught in Ludhiana before his conviction for a bomb blast in Delhi. 2019 Supreme Court Verdict On Ayodhya Dispute
The final judgement in the Ayodhya dispute was declared by the Supreme Court of India on 9 November 2019. The Supreme Court ordered the disputed land (2.77 acres) to be handed over to a trust (to be created by the government of India) to build the ''Ram Janmabhoomi'' (revered as the birthplace of Hindu deity, Rama) temple.
