Lake Hule
Lake Hule ( es, Laguna de Hule), which translates to ''Lake of Rubber'', due to the abundance of rubber trees nearby, is a fresh water crater lake located in the northern highlands of Costa Rica. It is part of a complex of lakes comprising Lake Hule, Lake Congo and Lake Bosque Alegre. The lakes are part of the Bosque Alegre Wildlife Refuge. Lake Poco Sol
Lake Poco Sol (from Spanish, "Little Sunshine"), or , is a volcanic lake in Costa Rica, in the Cordillera de Tilarán. The lake lies at an altitude of in a wide depression. The depth of the lake is about . Other volcanic features in the area include breccia, lahar deposits, lava flows and tuffs. The lake may be a landslide scar, or a crater left by a phreatic explosion. It is of probable Pleistocene age. It is constructed within the andesitic Monteverde Formation, which was erupted between 2.1 and 1 million years ago. Hot springs, mud pots and deposits of sulfur are found both at the lake and near the Río Penas Blancas. The area has been investigated for harnessing geothermal energy. Lake Cote ( es, Lago Cote), originally known as Lake Cóter, is a fresh water crater lake located in the northern highlands of Costa Rica. It is currently the largest natural lake in Costa Rica at . Lake Arenal
Lake Arenal ( es, Lago Arenal) is a lake which is situated in the northern highlands of Costa Rica. It is currently the largest lake in Costa Rica at . Its depth varies between 30 and 60 meters (100–200 feet) seasonally. The town of Arenal was relocated to higher ground when the lake was expanded in 1979. The old towns of Arenal and Tronadora now lie abandoned at the bottom of the lake, with the new town of Arenal existing to the northeast on the lake.
