Saksi Sbong
Saksi Sbong ( km, សាក់ ស៊ីស្បោង) is a Cambodian actress who mainly played the role of villains in Cambodian pre-Khmer Rouge films. Saksi Sbong was born in Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia, in 1940. After working as a flight attendant doing the liaison between Phnom Penh and Bangkok, she started taking up acting roles in movies produced by Norodom Sihanouk, beginning with ''Apsara'' in 1966 and culminating with her most famous role in '' La Joie de Vivre'', filmed in 1968–69, in which she plays Princess Sulpra. Already a "famous Cambodian actress" in 1969, she became even more popular for her cruel vicious character in films such as Tep Sodachan and Pos Keng Kong in the 1970s. Saksy Sbong fled Cambodia to live in France before the rule of the Khmer Rouge and only returned to Cambodia to film one last movie in the early 1990s. Virak Dara
Virak Dara ( km, វីរៈ តារា; born Kim Hiek () 1947) is a Cambodian actress primarily known for her roles in the 1960s and early-to-mid-1970s. In 1967 she starred as "Kong Rey" in '' Puthisean Neang Kong Rey'', which is to date the biggest Cambodian movie ever made. Her most famous film is '' An Euil Srey An'', released in 1971. Dara quickly became a fan favorite. History When Ly Bun Yim, one of the leading filmmakers in Cambodia at that time, met Dara, he wanted her to star in his films. Her parents initially did not consent, but after the two were married, Virak Dara changed her name and began her acting career. Dara would go on to star in 11 feature films, all directed by her husband. Other production companies were interested in having Dara in their movies, but Ly Bun Yim did not want his wife to work for other studios. Tith Vichara Dany (Khmer: ទិត្យ វិជ្ជរ៉ាដានី) was a popular Cambodian actress who most likely made her debut in 1967. She starred in a majority of films, which include '' Thavory Meas Bong'', ''Tep Sodachan'', and ''Sovann Pancha,'' during the nation's golden age of cinema. She is often paired on screen with fellow actor Kong Sam-Oeurn. Other notable actors she started with are Chea Yuthorn and ''Vann Vannak''. Veth Rathana (born 1986) was a Cambodian actress whose popularity rose in the mid-2000s from 2003 to 2007. She was among the most successful Cambodian actresses of the 2000s alongside Danh Monika, Keo Pich Pisey, Sim Solika, and Suos Sotheara. In 2006, she married Tuk Vandy and in 2007 Rattana fled to The United States of America with her husband. In that same year she left, the Cambodian film industry had a downfall. Vann Vannak
Vann Vannak ( km, វណ្ណ វណ្ណៈ) was a popular actor in Cambodia during the late 1960s until 1975. Despite his talents, producers usually favored casting his rivals Kong Som Oeurn or Chea Yuthorn in their movies. Due to their lack of support, Vann Vannak starred in considerably fewer films when compared to his rivals. Nevertheless, he was pivotal in movies such as ''Sovann Pancha'', ''Neang Kakey'', and ''Champa Meas'' all of which had Vichara Dany as the female lead. To increase his presence in the industry he created his own production company known as Pisnoka in 1970 which made eight films casting himself as the male lead in all of them. Details of his life are relatively unknown and he is believed to have died under the Khmer Rouge regime. Tep Rundaro
Tep Rindaro ( km, ទេព រិនដារ៉ូ, ; born 1963) is a Cambodian actor and singer. He started acting in 1987. With his career spanning more over 30 years, he is one of the longest starring actors in Cambodia since the fall of the Khmer Rouge in 1979. Early life Rindaro was born in the village of Samrong, Battambang Province, in northwestern Cambodia and developed a passion for films at an early age. As a child, he went to the movies a lot and always dreamed of one day appearing on the big screen. Life was peaceful and tranquil in Samrong, relatively speaking, until the Cambodian Civil War intensified, affecting even tranquil Samrong.
