Abdelsalam Al-Majali
Abdelsalam al-Majali ( ; ar, عبد السلام المجالي; born 18 February 1926) is a Jordanian physician and politician who served twice as the 29th Prime Minister of Jordan. Early life and education Majali was born in Al Karak, Emirate of Transjordan (now Jordan) in 1926. He received his medical degree from Syrian University in Damascus in 1949. He also holds a diploma of Laryngology and Otology from the Royal College of Physicians in London, which he obtained in 1953. He was awarded a fellowship by the American College of Surgeons in 1960. In 1974, he received the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from Hacettepe University. Career Majali was director of medical services for the Jordanian Armed Forces from 1960 to 1969. The following is a list of Chief of Mission, chiefs of mission from the United States to Jordan. The first chief of mission, Gerald A. Drew held the title of Diplomatic rank, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary. The second chief of mission, Joseph C. North Cleveland Park is a neighborhood in the Northwest quadrant of Washington, D.C. Karim Kawar ( ar, كريم قعوار) is Jordanian businessman and the former ambassador to the United States from Jordan, where he served under the title of Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United States of America and the Republic of Mexico from July 2002 until January 2007. Marwan al-Muasher ( ar, مروان المعشر) (born 1956) is a Jordanian diplomat and politician who was Jordan's foreign minister from 2002 to 2004 and its deputy prime minister during 2004 and 2005. Fayez Tarawneh ( ar, فايز الطراونة; '; 1 May 1949 – 15 December 2021) was a Jordanian independent politician, who served twice as the 31st Prime Minister of Jordan, and also as Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court. Early life and education Tarawneh was born on 1 May 1949. He received a bachelor's degree in economy from the University of Jordan. He also obtained a master's degree in 1974 and a PhD in 1980 in economics, both from the University of Southern California. Career Tarawneh was Jordanian ambassador to the United States from 1993 until 1997, and headed the Jordanian delegation that was in charge of peace negotiations with Israel in 1994.
