Yeshiva
A yeshiva (; he, ישיבה, , sitting; pl. , or ) is a traditional Jewish educational institution focused on the study of Rabbinic literature, primarily the Talmud and halacha (Jewish law), while Torah and Jewish philosophy are studied in parallel. The studying is usually done through daily ''shiurim'' (lectures or classes) as well as in study pairs called '' chavrusas'' (Aramaic for 'friendship' or 'companionship'). ''Chavrusa''-style learning is one of the unique features of the yeshiva. In the United States and Israel, different levels of yeshiva education have different names. In the United States, elementary-school students enroll in a ''cheder'', post- bar mitzvah-age students learn in a ''metivta'', and undergraduate-level students learn in a ''beit midrash'' or ''yeshiva gedola'' ( he, ישיבה גדולה, , large yeshiva' or 'great yeshiva). King David School, Vancouver
King David High School () is a pluralistic Jewish community high school in Vancouver, British Columbia. The high school offers comprehensive general and Judaic studies programs, enabling students to benefit from both the product and the process of learning. History The high school opened as Maimonides Secondary School in September 1987, housed on the upper floor of Schara Tzedeck Synagogue. The school moved to Baillie Street in 1992, and was renamed to Talmud Torah High School in 1998. In 2005, King David High School opened the doors to a new facility at Willow and 41st Avenue, in close proximity to the Vancouver Jewish Community Centre. The school continues to receive changes to its interior and exterior structure. Around 2011, the school received a renovation to its library interior. Bathurst Jewish Community Centre
The Prosserman Jewish Community Centre is a Jewish Community Centre for the Toronto area. It is located along Bathurst Street in the Bathurst Manor neighbourhood of Toronto. History The Bathurst Jewish Community Centre was founded in 1930 as the YMHA (Young Men's Hebrew Association). In 1953 a new facility was built, the Bloor Street "Y" at Bloor Street and Spadina Avenue. It is still there today, but has been completely renovated and is now called the Miles Nadal JCC.UJA

Anshei Minsk
Anshei Minsk (formally Beth Israel Anshei Minsk, informally the Minsk) is a synagogue in the Kensington Market neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1912 by poor Jewish immigrants from what is now Belarus (mostly Minsk), which at the time was part of the Russian Empire. The current Byzantine Revival building was completed in 1930. The congregation has had only three full-time rabbis: Meyer Levy (1916–1921), Meyer Zimmerman (1940–1954), and Shmuel Spero, who has served from 1988 to the present. It is the only Orthodox synagogue in Downtown Toronto with a full-time rabbi, and the only one that holds daily services. Founding Anshei Minsk was the first congregation formed in the Kensington Market neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1912, at a time when most of Toronto's Jewish population still lived in The Ward but were moving westward in increasing numbers to the Market and the surrounding area.

Adath Israel Congregation (Toronto)
Adath Israel Congregation is a Conservative synagogue located at 37 Southbourne Avenue in the North York district of Toronto, Ontario. It is one of the largest Conservative Synagogues in Canada, with approximately 1,600 member families. Like the majority of Conservative synagogues in the Toronto area, and in contrast to most American Conservative synagogues, has not adopted egalitarianism. In 2008, the congregation seceded from the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and affiliated with the Canadian Council of Conservative Synagogues. Beth El Synagogue is a Conservative synagogue in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Shaarey Zedek Synagogue (Winnipeg)
Shaarey Zedek Synagogue ("Gates of Righteousness") is the oldest synagogue in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Formed in 1880, the congregation's first building was constructed by Philip Brown and several others in 1890. Architect Charles Henry Wheeler designed the original Synagogue on King Street (1889–90). The synagogue has been located at 561 Wellington Crescent off Academy Road, on the western bank of the Assiniboine River, since 1950. Ohr HaTorah Day School
Ohr HaTorah Day School was an Orthodox Jewish day school, located in the River Heights neighbourhood of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It existed between 1998 - 2011, when it closed due to declining enrollment. The school was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who were interested in a combination of high-level studies in both Torah and general subjects. They did not think such studies were available at other schools in Winnipeg. History Rabbi Yaacov Benamou was the first principal of Ohr HaTorah. He was also serving as Senior Rabbi at the Herzlia-Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, which hosted the school. The school combined Judaic, Hebrew and general studies, emphasizing Torah values and Zionism.
