Carting Island
Carting Island is the largest of the four islands owned by Stratford, Connecticut in the Housatonic River between I-95 and the Merritt Parkway. The island is north of the Moses Wheeler Bridge, east of Peacock Island (Connecticut), and southwest of Long Island (Connecticut), and Pope's Flat, it is also south of Fowler Island in Milford and the Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Bridge. The island is uninhabited except for occasional visits by anglers, bird watchers and duck hunters. All transportation to and from the island is by boat. From 2011 the island was part of a multi-year wetland restoration report by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, NOAA, and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Fowler Island is the sole island owned by Milford, Connecticut north of I-95 in the Housatonic River. The island is north of the Moses Wheeler Bridge, and south of the Igor I. Cape Island
Cape May consists of a peninsula and barrier island system in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Brigantine Island
Brigantine Island (also known as Brigantine Beach Island) is an island off the Atlantic Ocean coast of New Jersey, located northeast of Atlantic City. It is long. The resort community of Brigantine is located on the island. The island is accessible via Route 87, which terminates at the end of the Brigantine Bridge, after crossing the Absecon Inlet. Artificial Island is a U.S. island located along the eastern shore of the Delaware River, mostly in southwestern New Jersey with a tiny portion inside Delaware's boundaries. The town of Stonington is located in New London County, Connecticut in the state's southeastern corner. Ram Island (Connecticut)
Ram Island is a small island off the coast of Mystic, Connecticut. It is located in the Town of Stonington, approximately offshore, between Mystic and Fishers Island. Once called Mystic Island, it was formerly the site of an exclusive Victorian era hotel resort at which steamships from Boston and New York City stopped twice a day. At the height of its popularity, the hotel played host to a world lightweight bare-knuckle boxing championship. By the 1920s, the hotel had fallen into disrepair and was destroyed in the New England Hurricane of 1938. A motel was later built that catered to transient boaters. The island has served as a seasonal private residence and farm since 1978. However, fires in February 2013 and March 2014 destroyed the barn and home.
