Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS, often pronounced ; also known as simply the Academy or the Motion Picture Academy) is a professional honorary organization with the stated goal of advancing the arts and sciences of motion pictures. The Academy's corporate management and general policies are overseen by a board of governors, which includes representatives from each of the craft branches. As of April 2020, the organization was estimated to consist of around 9,921 motion picture professionals. The Academy is an international organization and membership is open to qualified filmmakers around the world. The Academy is known around the world for its annual Academy Awards, now officially and popularly known as "The Oscars". Sylvain Chomet
Sylvain Chomet (; born 10 November 1963) is a French comic writer, animator and film director. Early career Born in Maisons-Laffitte, Seine-et-Oise (now Yvelines), near Paris, he studied art at high school until he graduated in 1982. Chomet moved to London in 1988 to work as an animator at the Richard Purdum studio. In September of that year, he established a freelance practice, working on commercials for clients such as Principality, Renault, Swinton and Swissair. In addition to his animation career, Chomet has created many print comics, starting in 1986 with ''Secrets of the Dragonfly.'' In 1992 Chomet wrote the script for a science fiction comic called ''The Bridge in Mud''. 1993 saw Chomet writing the story for ''Léon-la-Came'', which was drawn by Nicolas de Crécy for ''À Suivre'' magazine. Leslie Pope (June 2, 1954 – May 6, 2020) was an American set decorator who was nominated at the 76th Academy Awards for her work on the 2003 film ''Seabiscuit'' in the category of Best Art Direction. She shared her nomination with Jeannine Oppewall. Pope was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was an alumna of Antioch College, where she received a B.A. in biology. Robert Gould
Robert Gould (1660? – 1708/1709) was a significant voice in Restoration poetry in England. He was born in the lower classes and orphaned when he was thirteen. It is possible that he had a sister, but her name and fate are unknown. Gould entered into domestic service. His first employer is unknown, but hints in his poetry indicate that it was a lady and that his job was as a footman. By the age of twenty, however, he had entered the employ of Charles Sackville, 6th Earl of Dorset. Dorset was known for his libertine lifestyle and his patronage of the arts, and Gould possibly learned to read and write and was afforded books to read while in Dorset's employ. He appears to have moved to the pantry side of domestic service. Poetry Gould began his poetic career with a number of odes to peers, and his odes to ladies are particularly stylized and idealistic. Dominique Monféry (born May 4, 1965) is a French director, storyboard artist and also an animator. Education Monféry studied at the Gobelins School of the Image. Career Monféry started his career at Disney in 1990 with '' DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp'', working as an animator and animation supervisor. He was an animator of the character Claude Frollo from ''The Hunchback of Notre Dame''. William Everett Luckey (July 28, 1934 – February 24, 2018) was an American animator, artist, cartoonist, composer, illustrator, musician, singer and voice actor. He worked at the animation studio Pixar, where he worked as a character designer on a number of films, including ''Toy Story'', ''Boundin''', ''Toy Story 2'', ''A Bug's Life'', '' Monsters, Inc.'', ''Finding Nemo'', ''Cars'' and ''Ratatouille''. Luckey was also the voice of Rick Dicker in ''The Incredibles'', Chuckles the Clown in ''Toy Story 3'' and as Eeyore in ''Winnie the Pooh'' (2011).
