This is a list of productions produced by Illumination (formerly known as Illumination Entertainment), an American film and animation studio based in Santa Monica, California, United States. This includes feature films, television specials, shorts, and digital series. As of , Illumination has released 12 feature films, which were all distributed by Universal Pictures, with their first being ''Despicable Me'' on July 9, 2010, and their latest being '' Minions: The Rise of Gru'' on July 1, 2022. Their upcoming slate of films includes ''The Super Mario Bros. Movie'' and ''Migration'' (both in 2023), and ''Despicable Me 4'' in 2024. Pharrell Williams
Pharrell Lanscilo Williams (; born April 5, 1973) is an American record producer, rapper, singer, and songwriter. Alongside close colleague Chad Hugo, he formed the hip hop and R&B production duo the Neptunes in the early 1990s, with whom he has produced songs for various recording artists. In 1999, he became lead vocalist of the band N.E.R.D., which he formed with Hugo and drummer Shay Haley. Illumination Studios Paris (formerly known as Illumination Mac Guff) is a French animated feature production company owned by Illumination, a division of Universal Pictures. Kyle Balda
Kyle Balda (born March 9, 1971) is an American animator and film director, best known for co-directing the Illumination films ''The Lorax'' (2012), with Chris Renaud; '' Minions'' (2015), with Pierre Coffin; and '' Minions: The Rise of Gru'' (2022), with Brad Ableson and Jonathan del Val. He previously worked as an animator for Industrial Light & Magic before moving to Pixar where he worked on three of their films. Early life Balda was born in Tucson, Arizona, to a Maltese mother. Rhythm & Hues Studios was an American visual effects and animation company, that received the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 1995 for ''Babe'', in 2008 for ''The Golden Compass'', and in 2013 for ''Life of Pi''.
