Adult Contemporary is a chart published by ''Billboard'' ranking the top-performing songs in the United States in the adult contemporary music (AC) market. In 1988, 22 songs topped the chart, then published under the title Hot Adult Contemporary, based on playlists submitted by radio stations. In the year's first issue of ''Billboard'' the number one song was "Got My Mind Set on You" by George Harrison, which was in its third week at number one. It held the top spot for two weeks in 1988 before being displaced by " Everywhere" by British-American rock group Fleetwood Mac. In March, actor Patrick Swayze reached number one with the song "She's Like the Wind", featuring Wendy Fraser, taken from the soundtrack of the film ''Dirty Dancing'', in which he starred. Written by Diane Warren, produced by Ron Nevison, and with Bill Champlin on lead vocals, it is the second single from the band's album ''Chicago 19''. "Look Away" topped the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for two weeks in December 1988, becoming the group's second number one following "If You Leave Me Now" (1976) and "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" (1982). "Look Away" is Chicago's seventh song to have peaked at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart as well as the No. 1 song on the 1989 year-end ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, even though it never held the No. 1 spot at all in 1989. Chicago is an American rock music, rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1967. The group began calling themselves the Chicago Transit Authority in 1968, then shortened the name in 1969. Self-described as a "rock and roll band with Horn (instrument), horns", Chicago's songs often combine elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, and pop music. Miami Sound Machine was an American band of Latin-influenced music that had featured the vocals of Cuban-born recording artist Gloria Estefan (née Fajardo). Established in 1975 by Emilio Estefan Jr., the band was originally known as the Miami Latin Boys before becoming the Miami Sound Machine in 1977. The band had a number of albums and a string of hit singles until 1989. The band's 1985 album ''Primitive Love'' credited the band whereas their follow-up album '' Let It Loose'' in 1987 placed Gloria Estefan at the forefront.
