List Of Hockey East Best Defensive Defenseman
The Hockey East Best Defensive Defenseman is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season to the best defensive defenseman in the conference as voted by the head coaches of each Hockey East team. The Best Defensive Defenseman was first bestowed in 1999 and every year thereafter. Brian Dumoulin is the only defenseman to have won the award more than once, doing so in 2010–11 and 2011–12. Hockey East
The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split from what is today known as ECAC Hockey, after disagreements with the Ivy League members. The women's league, the WHEA, began play in 2002. On October 5, 2011, the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish (an ACC member outside football) announced they would be joining Hockey East as the conference's first non-New England school in 2013 after the CCHA folded. On March 22, 2016, Notre Dame subsequently announced their men's hockey team would leave Hockey East for the Big Ten Conference at the start of the 2017-2018 season. Bobby Allen (ice Hockey)
Robert Paul Allen (born November 14, 1978) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the National Hockey League for the Edmonton Oilers and the Boston Bruins. Playing career As a youth, Allen played in the 1991 and 1992 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Beverly, Massachusetts. Allen played for Boston College, from which he was selected fifty-second in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins. He was subsequently traded to the Edmonton Oilers on the 2002 trade deadline, in exchange for Sean Brown. He spent the majority of his Oiler career in the American Hockey League, although he did play one game for Edmonton in 2002–03. On July 22, 2004 he signed as a free agent by the New Jersey Devils. Sean Sullivan (ice Hockey)
Sean Sullivan (born March 29, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. He most notably played in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Sullivan holds dual citizenship in the US and Germany. Playing career A Boston native, Sullivan attended St. Sebastian's School in Needham, before he was recruited to play collegiate hockey with Boston University of the Hockey East. In his tenure at St. Sebastian's, Sullivan co-captained the team, and was an All-League selection in both seasons. In 2003, he led all New England prep defensemen in scoring with 39 points in 2003 to also earn a position in the All-New England Team. Primarily a defensive defenseman in his early years with the Terriers, Sullivan was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 9th round (272nd overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Peter Harrold
Peter Jacob Harrold (born June 8, 1983) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings and the New Jersey Devils. Playing career Harrold was raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio where he attended Hawken School. Upon graduation from high school, Harrold attended Boston College where he was the captain of their team. Led by Harrold, BC made it to the 2006 Frozen Four where they played the Wisconsin Badgers. He scored his first career NHL goal on February 23, 2008, against the Chicago Blackhawks' Patrick Lalime at Staples Center. Harrold represented the United States at the 2009 IIHF World Championship. Maine Black Bears Men's Ice Hockey
The Maine Black Bears men's ice hockey is a (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Maine. The Black Bears are a member of Hockey East. They play at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena commonly known as Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine.
