This is a list of highways in San Antonio in the U.S. state of Texas, consisting of Interstate Highway System, Interstates, United States Numbered Highways, U.S. highways, Texas state highways, state highways, state highway loop route, loops and spur route, spurs maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in the San Antonio metropolitan area, consisting of Bexar County and its seven surrounding counties. They range from multi-lane freeways that provide high-volume corridors to 2-lane roads. In addition to the four Interstates, which must be freeways per the Interstate Highway standards, U.S. Route 90 in Texas, US 90, U.S. Route 281 in Texas, US 281, Texas State Highway 151, SH 151, and the northern part of Loop 1604 are also freeways in San Antonio. The Dwight D. Downtown San Antonio is the central business district of San Antonio, Texas, United States. It also serves as the urban core of Greater San Antonio, a metropolitan area with nearly 2.5 million people. I-410 (TX)
Interstate 410 (abbreviated I-410, and colloquially called Loop 410) is a loop route of I-10 around San Antonio, Texas. It is identified as Connally Loop in honor of former Texas Governor John Connally. Route description I-410 circumnavigates the city of San Antonio, officially beginning and ending at the junction with I-35 on the southwest side of the loop. There are vast differences between the northern arc and southern arc of the loop. The northern arc serves the heavily urbanized portions of San Antonio and is currently being upgraded to as many as five lanes in each direction. The southern arc resembles more of a rural interstate as it transverses, for the most part, undeveloped portions of San Antonio as a four-lane interstate. Interstate 37 (I-37) is a Interstate Highway located within the southern portion of the US state of Texas. The highway was first designated in 1959 as a route between Corpus Christi and San Antonio. Construction in the urban areas of Corpus Christi and San Antonio began in the 1960s, and the segments of the Interstate Highway in rural areas were completed by the 1980s. Prior to I-37, the route between Corpus Christi and San Antonio was served by a combination of State Highway 9 (SH 9) from Corpus Christi to Three Rivers and U.S. Highway 281 (US 281) from Three Rivers to San Antonio. As a result of the construction of I-37, SH 9 was removed from the State Highway System. The highway begins in Corpus Christi at US 181 and SH 35 and heads north to San Antonio, where it ends at I-35. Medina County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 50,748. Its county seat is Hondo. The county is named for the Medina River.
