The following is a list of neighborhoods, districts, and other sections located in the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The list is organized by broader geographical sections within the city. While there is no official list of neighborhoods, districts, and places, this list was compiled from the sources listed in the References and External links sections, as well as from published information from secondary sources. Common usage for Harrisburg's neighborhood names does not respect "official" borders used by the city's police, planning commission or other entities. Therefore, some of the places listed here may overlap geographically, and residents do not always agree where one neighborhood ends and another begins. Some names are past neighborhoods or developments that no longer exist (such as " Hardscrabble"). East Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
East Harrisburg is a district of neighborhoods in the eastern end of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Its southern border is formed by Interstate 83; eastern border is Paxtang along 29th Street; northern border is Market Street and the borough of Penbrook; western border is the Allison Hill neighborhood along 21st Street and including Bellevue Park. The historic former private Bishop McDevitt High School and current public John Harris High School are located in East Harrisburg. The neighboring Borough of Penbrook was once officially named ''East Harrisburg''. It still maintains a Harrisburg postal ZIP code. Camp Curtin, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Camp Curtin is a historic neighborhood in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's northern end, located in Uptown and named for the American Civil War camp of the same name. It is bordered currently by landmarks of Fifth Street to the west, the railroad tracks next to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex to the east, Maclay Street to the south, and Reels Lane to the North. Academy Manor, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Academy Manor is a historical suburban subdivision of the Riverside neighborhood within the Uptown section of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The neighborhood extends north from Front and Division Street up to the location of former Harrisburg Academy (the neighborhood's namesake), west to Parkview Lane, and south back to Division St. It was established in the early 20th century with specific plans in terms of lot sizes, setbacks, and the kinds of buildings permitted. History After the greater Riverside neighborhood was annexed to Harrisburg in 1917, Academy Manor was a separately designated tract and in 1922 and lots were designated for sale. Prominent Harrisburg families and residents would go on to build mansions in various styles. Hall Manor, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
The John A. F. Hall Manor is a neighborhood of mixed-income housing in South Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Managed by the Harrisburg Housing Authority, it was named after former mayor John A. F. Hall. Fox Ridge Historic District (Harrisburg)
The Fox Ridge Historic District (or Fox Ridge) is a municipal historic district and neighborhood within Midtown, Harrisburg recognized by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC). The district was adopted by the PHMC in February 1983 and certified by the Secretary of the Interior in January 1985 as an addition to the larger Harrisburg Historic District. The neighborhood district, sometimes called Old Fox Ridge, is between Third and 6th Streets and Forster and Herr Streets. It contains mostly 19th Century vernacular style homes, with some institutional buildings. New Fox Ridge, a homeowners association, is one of the city's first modern town house developments, a collection of 63 brick town houses along North Third Street.
