''Grand Designs Australia'' is an Australian spin-off of the British TV series ''Grand Designs''. The show documents people who attempt to build a custom-designed house and the challenges they face. It is aired on The LifeStyle Channel and is hosted by the architect Peter Maddison. The series was renewed in October 2022 at Foxtel’s 2023 upfronts for an eleventh and final season. Format The Australian edition follows its British lead and, generally, begins with Maddison meeting the individuals constructing a "unique" build; this is followed by a CAD (Computer Aided Design, produced bOur Vision of the layout of the build. As the build progresses, Maddison visits the site to interview the build clients and will, occasionally, interview other persons relevant to the project such as architects and site managers. Fish Creek, Victoria
Fish Creek is a small dairy farming community in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. It sits in between the Boon wurrung and Gunai/Kurnai Indigenous regions. At the 2016 census, Fish Creek and the surrounding area had a population of 827. It was named for the many river blackfish in the creek that runs alongside the town. History Fish Creek was first settled in 1886 when land was selected and cleared in the densely forested region, soon after, dairy cattle began grazing. The Post Office opened on 6 October 1890 next to the proposed railway which arrived in 1892. In 1900 a community hall was built where the Butter Factory building stands today. Lake Bennett, Northern Territory
Lake Bennett is a small artificial freshwater lake located 80 km south of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia within the Coomalie Shire. The lake is set in 4.45 square kilometres of tropical wilderness. It was created in 1980 following the construction of a dam by George and Ken Bennett on a property they had purchased the previous year. It has been stocked with barramundi since 2004. In recent times some sub-division of the lands around the lake foreshores has occurred with cabins and houses being built around the northern edge, although the permanent population is very small.
