Gävleborg County
Gävleborg County () is a Counties of Sweden, county or ''län'' on the Baltic Sea coast of Sweden. It borders the counties of Uppsala County, Uppsala, Västmanland County, Västmanland, Dalarna County, Dalarna, Jämtland County, Jämtland and Västernorrland County, Västernorrland. The capital is Gävle. Provinces Gävleborg County encompasses the provinces of Gästrikland and Hälsingland, except for the northwestern part of the latter which is located in Jämtland County, most notably Ytterhogdal. Hamra församling (Hamra parish), in northeast Dalarna is also part of Gävleborg County. Geography Gävleborg county is in eastern-central Sweden on the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia. Per Anders Otto Bill (born 13 February 1958) is a Sweden, Swedish politician of the Moderate Party who served as List of governors of Gävleborg County, Governor of Gävleborg County from 2015 to 2024. Barbro Holmberg
Barbro Holmberg (; born 7 April 1952) is a Swedish Social Democratic politician. On 10 October 2003 she was appointed Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy in the Swedish Government. As a consequence of the change of government following the 2006 government election, she left office on 6 October 2006, and in 2008 she was appointed the governor of Gävleborg County. Holmberg was born in Lycksele, Västerbotten, and grew up in Jörn. She has a degree in social work. She was married to radio journalist Thomas Nordegren and has three children, including Elin Nordegren, who has been married to the American golfer Tiger Woods. Hans Hagnell
Hans Hagnell (December 15, 1919 – June 16, 2006) was a Swedish Social Democratic politician, governor and economist. Hagnell was born in Gothenburg, Sweden on December 15, 1919, to Axel Hagnell, an author and illustrator, and Maria Hagnell. He is cousin to professor Olle Hagnell. Hagnell studied at University of Gothenburg, and graduated with a master's degree in political science in 1946 and a licentiate degree in economics in 1948. In 1956 Hagnell was elected as a Social Democratic member of the Second Chamber of the Swedish Parliament, representing Stockholm, and he became a member of various committees. He served as member of the Swedish parliament from 1956 to 1973. In 1971 Hagnell was appointed to governor of Gävleborg County (1971–1986) by prime minister Olof Palme. Jarl Hjalmarson
Jarl Harald Hjalmarson (15 June 1904 – 26 November 1993) was the leader of the conservative Swedish Rightist Party (''Högerpartiet''), today known as the Moderate Party, between 1950 and 1961. Born in Helsingborg, he was considered as a moderate conservative, he led the Swedish conservatives to the position as the second-biggest party (after the predominant Social Democrats) in Sweden in the 1958 election. Under his leadership, the party undertook a wide agreement with the government to expand the Swedish armed forces in face of the ongoing Cold War and Swedish neutrality and vocally supported the development of Swedish nuclear weapons, which was ultimately abandoned. Rickard Johannes Sandler (29 January 1884 – 12 November 1964) was a Swedish Social Democratic politician. He served as minister without portfolio in the Swedish government from 10 March 1920 to 30 June 1920, minister for finance from 1 July 1920 to 27 October 1920, minister without portfolio from 13 October 1921 to 19 April 1923, minister of commerce and industry from 14 October 1924 to 24 January 1925, Prime Minister from 24 January 1925 to 7 June 1926, and as minister for foreign affairs from 24 September 1932 to 19 June 1936 and again from 28 September 1936 to 13 December 1939.
