Jean-Louis Bernard Barrault (; 8 September 1910 – 22 January 1994) was a French actor, director and mime artist who worked on both screen and stage. Biography Barrault was born in Le Vésinet in France in 1910. His father was 'a Burgundian pharmacist who died in the First World War.':87 He studied at the Collége Chaptal until 1930, when he began his studies at the École du Louvre.:87 Theatre From 1931 to 1935 Barrault studied and acted at Charles Dullin's ''L'Atelier''.:32 His first performance was a small role in Ben Jonson's ''Volpone''. Biography She was born Edwige Louise Caroline Cunatti to an Italian architect father and an Alsace-born mother. She was raised primarily in Dijon. Jean Delannoy
Jean Delannoy (12 January 1908 – 18 June 2008) was a French actor, film editor, screenwriter and film director. Biography Although Delannoy was born in a Paris suburb, his family was from Haute-Normandie in the north of France. He was a Protestant, a descendant of Huguenots, some of whom fled the country during the French Wars of Religion, and settled first in Wallonia. Afterwards, their name became De la Noye and then Delano family, Delano, who were on the second ship to immigrate to Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was a student in Paris when he began acting in silent films. He eventually landed a job with Paramount Studios Parisian facilities, working his way up to head film editor. In 1934 he directed his first film and went on to a long career, both writing and directing. In 1946, his film about a Protestant minister titled ''La symphonie pastorale'' was awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Mila Parély (7 October 1917 – 14 January 2012), born Olga Colette Peszynski, was a French actress of Polish ancestry best known for the roles of Félicie, Belle's eldest sister, in Jean Cocteau's '' La Belle et la Bête'' (1946), and as Geneviève in '' La Règle du jeu'' (1939). She had a liaison with actor Jean Marais from 1942 to 1944, remaining lifelong friends, and in 1976 she was his business associate in a pottery shop. Marais was the long-term lover of Jean Cocteau and her co-star in the latter's 1946 film version of ''Beauty and the Beast''. She gave up acting in the late 1950s in order to take care of her racing car driving husband Taso Mathieson, who had been injured in an accident. She also worked with such notable directors as Max Ophüls, Jean Renoir, Robert Bresson, Fritz Lang and G.W. Pabst. She returned to acting briefly in the late 1980s. Early life and career Guétary was born in Alexandria, Egypt, to Greek parents. His father was a textile executive. He studied music in Egypt and in Paris, and made his stage debut in 1937.
