The ''municipalities'' (Serbian language, Serbian: ''opštine'' / општине, singular: ''opština'' / општина) are the first level administrative subdivisions of Montenegro. The country is divided into 25 municipalities including the Old Royal Capital Cetinje and the Podgorica Capital City. Tuzi
Tuzi ( cnr, Tuzi/Тузи, ; sq, Tuz or ''Tuzi'') is a small town in Montenegro and the seat of Tuzi Municipality, Montenegro. It is located along a main road between the city of Podgorica and the Albanian border crossing, just a few kilometers north of Lake Skadar. The Church of St. Anthony and Qazimbeg's Mosque are located in the centre of the town. Tuzi is the newest municipality in Montenegro, having been an independent municipality since 1 September 2018. Geography Tuzi is situated to the northwest of Lake Shkodra, 10 km from Podgorica, 150 km from Dubrovnik (Croatia) and 130 km to Tirana (Albania). Tomaševo
Tomaševo ( sr-cyrl, Томашево), previous known as Šahovici, is a village in the Municipalities of Montenegro, municipality of Bijelo Polje Municipality, Bijelo Polje, Montenegro. History During the early 20th century, Šahovići was the administrative centre of the kaza of Kolašin. Demographic data compiled by Bulgarian foreign ministry in 1901-02 reported that Šahovići was populated by 25 Albanians, Albanian households. Šahovici was the site of the 1924 Šahovići massacre, in which around 600-900 local Muslims were massacred by Montenegrin peasants under the pretext that local outlaws murdered the chief of Kolašin county, Boško Bošković. These accusations later turned out to be untrue, as after the events of the massacre, it emerged that the murderers of Bošković were clan members from Rovca, a rival tribe to his own. Petnjica ( cnr, Петњица) is a town in northern Montenegro, and the center of Petnjica Municipality. Petnjica regained its municipality status on May 28, 2013, which it previously had from 1945 to 1957, when it was merged with the Berane Municipality. Bar Municipality is one of the municipalities of Montenegro. The center is the town Bar. The municipality is located at the Adriatic coast in the southeast Montenegro. According to the 2011 census, the city proper had 17,649 inhabitants, while the total population of Bar Municipality was 42,068. Geography and tourism Bar Municipality is located on the coastal western border of Montenegro on the shore of the Adriatic Sea. It is approximately from Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.
