Cryptonomicon
''Cryptonomicon'' is a 1999 novel by American author Neal Stephenson, set in two different time periods. One group of characters are World War II-era Allied codebreakers and tactical-deception operatives affiliated with the Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park (UK), and disillusioned Axis military and intelligence figures. The second narrative is set in the late 1990s, with characters that are (in part) descendants of those of the earlier time period, who employ cryptologic, telecom, and computer technology to build an underground data haven in the fictional Sultanate of Kinakuta. Their goal is to facilitate anonymous Internet banking using electronic money and (later) digital gold currency, with a long-term objective to distribute Holocaust Education and Avoidance Pod (HEAP) media for instructing genocide-target populations on defensive warfare. Jurassic Park (novel)
''Jurassic Park'' is a 1990 science fiction action novel written by Michael Crichton. A cautionary tale about genetic engineering, it presents the collapse of an amusement park showcasing genetically re-created dinosaurs to illustrate the mathematical concept of chaos theory and its real-world implications. A sequel titled '' The Lost World'', also written by Crichton, was published in 1995. In 1997, both novels were re-published as a single book titled ''Michael Crichton's Jurassic World''. A shadow is a dark area where light from a light source is blocked by an opaque object. It occupies all of the three-dimensional volume behind an object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two- dimensional silhouette, or a reverse projection of the object blocking the light. Rhiannon Lassiter (born February 1977) is a children's books author. Biography Rhiannon Lassiter was born on 9 February 1977 in London to children's books author Mary Hoffman and Stephen Barber. She started writing the first book of the Hex trilogy, set in a totalitarian futuristic Europe, when she was seventeen, and sent the first chapters to Douglas Hill (a friend of the family) and Pat White (her mother's agent). She was stunned when Pat wrote back saying that she loved it and would like to represent Rhiannon and Douglas said she should send it to his editor, Marion Lloyd, at Macmillan. Macmillan accepted the first two Hex books shortly after her nineteenth birthday. Lisbeth Salander is a fictional character created by Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson in his award-winning ''Millennium'' series. She first appeared in the 2005 novel ''The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'', as an asocial computer hacker with a photographic memory who teams up with Mikael Blomkvist, an investigative journalist and publisher of a magazine called ''Millennium''. Salander reappears in ''The Girl Who Played with Fire'' (2006) and '' The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest'' (2007), sequels that Larsson had written before he died in 2004.
