List Of FIA Events
This is a list of international motorsport championships, trophies and cups administered and regulated by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the international governing body of motorsport. The FIA awards the winners titles and/or trophies to the competitors, while working with other promoters who may arrange the commercial affairs of the series. Seven series are sanctioned as World Championships: FIA Formula One World Championship, FIA World Rally Championship, FIA World Rallycross Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship, FIA Karting World Championship, FIA World Rally-Raid Championship and FIA Formula E World Championship. An eighth event, the FIA World Touring Car Championship was discontinued at the end of 2017 and replaced by the FIA World Touring Car Cup, which had World Cup status until its demise. The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA; en, International Automobile Federation) is an association established on 20 June 1904 to represent the interests of motoring organisations and motor car users. It is the governing body for many auto racing events, including Formula One. The FIA also promotes road safety around the world. Headquartered at 8 Place de la Concorde, Paris, with offices in Geneva and Valleiry, the FIA consists of 246 member organisations in 145 countries worldwide. Its current president is Mohammed bin Sulayem. World Rally Championship
The World Rally Championship (abbreviated as WRC) is the highest level of global competition in the motorsport discipline of rallying, owned and governed by the FIA. There are separate championships for drivers, co-drivers, manufacturers and teams. The series currently consists of 13 three to four-day rally events driven on surfaces ranging from gravel and tarmac to snow and ice. Each rally is usually split into 15–25 special stages which are run against the clock on up to 350 kilometres of closed roads. Drivers Sébastien Loeb, Sébastien Ogier, Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen and Colin McRae all became WRC champions. FIA International Hill Climb Cup
The FIA International Hill Climb Cup is an FIA-run motorsport competition held across World on public roads, created in 2014, resulting form the merge between FIA European Hill Climb Cup and FIA International Hill Climb Challenge Unlike circuit racing, each driver competes alone, starting from a point at the base of a mountain and reaching a finish point near the summit. The FIA International Hill Climb Cup allows single-seater cars, open-cockpit sports prototypes, and touring cars with varying degrees of technical preparation. Unlike the events of the FIA European Hill Climb Championship, for which the minimum course length must be 5 km, no minimum length is set for the roads used during the events of the International Hill Climb Cup. FIA EcoRally Cup
The FIA ecoRally Cup is an international motorsport competition for electric vehicles organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. The cup consists of several regularity rallies, usually located in Europe and ran during one calendar year. Vehicles must be unmodified production road vehicles, although prototypes may be permitted subject to FIA approval if they are road legal within the European Union. FIA CODASUR South American Rally Championship
The FIA CODASUR Rally Championship is an international rally championship which is run by Confederacion Deportiva Automovilismo Sudamericana (CODASUR) under the auspices of the FIA and held across South America, although some events in the northernmost reaches of South America compete in the NACAM Rally Championship zone rather than Codasur. Competing rallies have generally had short and intermittent histories within the championship, although Brazil's Rally de Erechim and Uruguay's Rally del Atlantico have been in almost every championship. Host nations have kept relatively constant; Brazil and Paraguay have hosted events in every championship, Bolivia and Uruguay all bar one and Argentina has only missed two years. FIA NACAM Rally Championship
The NACAM Rally Championship is an international rally championship which is run under the auspicies FIA and held across North and Central America, northern South America and the Caribbean. The championship was established in 2008. While the NACAM region encompasses 14 countries the core of the championship is in Mexico and Costa Rica. Both have held rallies in every NACAM championship with Rally Costa del Pacífico in Costa Rica the only rally to have been held in every NACAM championship. The 2013 championship has events is Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia with Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago debuting in 2013. Rallies have previously been held in Guatemala, Barbados and Ecuador. Mexican driver Ricardo Triviño is the only multiple champion, having won the series ten times since 2008. Asia-Pacific Rally Championship
The Asia-Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) is an international rally championship organized by the FIA encompassing rounds in Asia and Oceania. Group N cars dominated the championship for many years but in recent years cars built to R5 and S2000 regulations have tended to be the frontrunners. The championship was first held in 1988, created out of the successful expansion of the World Rally Championship into Asia and linking with the debut of Rally Australia and won by Japan's Kenjiro Shinozuka in a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4. African Rally Championship
The African Rally Championship (ARC) is an international automobile rally championship run under the auspicies of the FIA. The championship was first held in 1981 and won by Shekhar Mehta. The most successful driver in the championship's history is Zambian driver Satwant Singh with eight championships. The reigning champion is Kenyan driver Manvir Baryan. The championship has been held widely across the African continent, including the island of Madagascar, although few events are held in or north of the Sahara. The championship has frequently incorporated World Rally Championship events, particularly Africa's two most popular rallies, the Safari Rally in Kenya and the Ivory Coast Rally in Côte d'Ivoire. Middle East Rally Championship
The Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) is a motor rally championship run under the auspicies of the FIA. First held in 1984 the championship encompasses a series of rallies held across Western Asia. The championship has featured long-running events like Rally of Lebanon, Rally Oman and the Troodos Rally in Cyprus as well as World Rally Championship event Jordan Rally. Many of the rallies in the region pre-date national independence, mostly from the United Kingdom. The championship has been dominated by Nasser Al-Attiyah has won 17 titles. European Rally Trophy
The FIA European Rally Trophy, ERT is a European rally competition. The ERT is made up of competitors from seven regions, which are the Alpine Rally Trophy, the Balkan Rally Trophy, the Baltic Rally Trophy, the Benelux Rally Trophy, the Celtic Rally Trophy, the Central Rally Trophy and the Iberian Rally Trophy. European Rally Championship
The European Rally Championship (officially FIA European Rally Championship) is an rallying, automobile rally competition held annually on the European continent and organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship has been organized since 1953 and has competed in different European countries, alternating between rallies on asphalt and gravel.
