The Emiratis ( ar, الإماراتيون) are the native Arab citizen population of the United Arab Emirates. Their largest concentration is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where there are about approximately 1.5 million Emiratis. Formerly known as the Trucial States or Trucial Sheikhdoms, the United Arab Emirates is made up of seven emirates, each of which had a dominant or ruling family. Hawaa Al Mansoori
Hawaa Al Thahak Al Mansoori () is an Emirati physician, inventor and politician. She was appointed to the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates in 2019. As a physician Dr. Al Mansoori is an endocrinologist and healthcare executive, serving as executive director of the Intramural Research Division at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center and Deputy Medical Director of Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi. Al Mansoori is on the board of Sandooq Al Watan, a charitable foundation launched by a group of Emirati business people. She has been an advocate of sustainable healthcare, genetic medicine and women's empowerment. In 2014 she was presented the UAE Pioneers Award by the Prime Minister of the UAE for her invention of a catheter placement technology. Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi ( ar, نورة بنت محمد الكعبي) is an Emirati politician and businesswoman who is currently the Minister of Culture and Youth for the United Arab Emirates. She has held the position since October 2017. Previously she was the Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs from February 2016 to October 2017. She has also been the chairperson of the twofour54 since 2012 and of Abu Dhabi Media since 2017. Education Al Kaabi received her high school education in Abu Dhabi and Pennsylvania. Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi () is an Emirati politician who is the Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and the Chairman of the Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in the Government of Dubai. Early life Al Gergawi was born in Dubai in 1963. His father, Abdulla Ali Al Gergawi, was a merchant in the city. He completed his primary and secondary school education in the emirate and attained a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the United States. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi (; born 22 February 1949) is the ruler of the Emirate of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. Early life Hamad Al Sharqi was born in 1949, the son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, former ruler of the Emirate of Fujairah, one of the principalities which make up the United Arab Emirates. His mother, Sheikha Fatima bint Rashid Al Nuaimi, was a princess of the neighbouring Emirate of Ajman; she was the sister of the present ruler of Ajman, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi.
