List Of Eliteserien Venues
The Eliteserien is the top association football league in Norway. It was established in 1963 as the 1. divisjon and has consisted of between 10 and 16 teams. Fifty-six different venues have been used to host matches.Fagerli and Lunde (1999): 387 Current The following is a list of all stadia used for matches in the Norwegian top division, including while it was known as the 1. divisjon. It consists of the venue's name, the municipality it where it is located, its current capacity, whether it has natural grass or artificial turf (an asterisk (*) indicates current artificial turf, but previous natural grass), the number of top-league matches contested on the venue, the teams which have played their home games at the venue and how many matches for each team, and the years the stadium was used at the top level. Eliteserien
Eliteserien () is a Norwegian professional league for association football clubs. At the top of the Norwegian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Norwegian First Division. Seasons run from March to November with each team playing 30 matches (playing each other home and away). Most games are played on Sunday evenings. Eliteserien was founded in 1937 as Norgesserien (English: ''The League of Norway''), and the first season was the 1937–38 season. The structure and name of Eliteserien, along with Norway's other football leagues, has undergone frequent changes. Drammen
Drammen () is a city and municipality in Viken (county), Viken, Norway. The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. Drammen municipality also includes smaller towns and villages such as Konnerud, Svelvik, Mjøndalen and Skoger. The Marienlyst Stadion has been the home ground of Strømsgodset Toppfotball since 1967. It's located on Marienlyst in Drammen, Norway. History The pitch was opened in 1924, and was the home ground of Drafn, Skiold and Drammens BK. The final of the 1932 Norwegian Football Cup, between Fredrikstad and Ørn was played at Marienlyst. During the 1952 Winter Olympics in neighboring Oslo, the venue hosted two ice hockey matches. The venue hosted the Norwegian Athletics Championships in 1962 and 2001. Stavanger Stadion
Stavanger Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Stavanger, Norway. It was used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and hosted the home matches of Viking FK. The stadium opened on 13 August 1917, and was able to hold 17,555 people at the end of its life as Viking's home ground in 2004. The west stand was the largest single-tier spectator stand in the country. The other stands were small roofless terraces without seating. History Stavanger Stadion was closed in 2004 when Viking Stadion opened, but was reopened a few years later as a track and field stadium after a major reconstruction of the spectator stands. Strømmen Idrettsforening is a Norwegian sports club from Strømmen. It has sections for football, athletics and gymnastics, and formerly had sections for bandy, orienteering, skiing, speed skating, swimming among other sports. Skedsmo was a municipality in Akershus county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Romerike. The administrative centre of the municipality was the town of Lillestrøm. The Åråsen Stadion, officially written Åråsen stadion, is an all-seater stadium, all-seater association football, football stadium located in Lillestrøm, a city east of Oslo in Skedsmo, Norway.
