''Rent a Friend'' (2000) is a romantic comedy film directed by Eddy Terstall. The film was produced by Jordaan Film and BNN TV. Plot Alfred is a talented artist. He does not care to be rich or famous and gives full attention to his artworks and creation. His girlfriend Moniek is a successful writer for a popular soap opera. Alfred's lack of ambition and negligence towards money and material life irritates Moniek, who bases the plot for each soap opera episode on her own life. Alfred discovers Moniek has been conducting an affair with her boss after watching the soap opera, and moves in with his sister after the couple splits. A biographical film or biopic () is a film that dramatizes the life of a non-fictional or historically-based person or people. Such films show the life of a historical person and the central character's real name is used. They differ from docudrama films and historical drama films in that they attempt to comprehensively tell a single person's life story or at least the most historically important years of their lives. Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen (Arnhem, 13 November 1957 – Amsterdam, 27 September 2005) was a Dutch film director. He made his acting debut in the 1986 Academy Award-winning movie '' The Assault''. His directing debut came in 1990, with the television series '. He directed 16 movies in his career, many of which received international praise. His movies won 21 awards and were nominated for an additional 11 awards. Of these, six awards and three nominations were for the Golden Calves. His 2001 art film Touch and his 2002 television movie '' The Enclave'' were nominated for an Emmy Award. Van de Sande Bakhuyzen died from cancer in 2005, the day before the premiere of his movie '' Life!''. In insurance claims, a total loss or write-off is a situation where the lost value, repair cost or salvage cost of a damaged property exceeds its insured value, and simply replacing the old property with a new equivalent is more cost-effective. Jan Decleir (born as ''Jan Amanda Gustaaf Decleir'' on 14 February 1946) is a prolific Belgian movie and stage actor born in Niel, Antwerp. Career He had his first big role in Fons Rademakers's ''Mira'' (1971). Since then, he has appeared in countless Flemish and Dutch films and TV productions. In the world of theater he gained his fame by acting at the International New Scene for the play Mistero Buffo by Dario Fo. To the larger audiences of television he became known through his role of ''Sil de strandjutter'' in 1976 in the equally named TV series. Kim van Kooten (born 26 January 1974 in Purmerend, North Holland) is a Dutch actress and screenwriter. In international cinema, she is best known for the 2003 Dutch/US co-production ''Phileine Says Sorry'', filmed partly in New York City, in which she plays the lead. She is the author of the script of the very successful Dutch movie ''Alles is Liefde'' (''Everything is Love''), and won a Golden Calf for Best Actress in ''Phileine Says Sorry'' (2003), and for Best Scenario with ''Met grote blijdschap'' (2001). André van Duren (born 20 June 1958) is a Dutch film director. Career His 1992 film ''Heading for England'' won the Dutch Film Critics Award at the Netherlands Film Festival. In 2000, he directed the film '' Mariken'' which is based on Peter van Gestel's children's book ''Mariken'' which itself is based on the early sixteenth-century text '' Mariken van Nieumeghen''. The film won the Audience Award at the Cinekid Festival that year. ''Mariken'' also won the Adult's Jury Award at the 2001 Chicago International Children's Film Festival.
