Patty's Inn
Patty's Inn was a dive bar located on South Montgomery Street in San Jose, California. On August 1, 2021, it closed after more than 80 years in business to make space for Google's "Downtown West" project. History and description Established in 1933, Patty's Inn operated out of a small, wooden structure originally built in 1890 that was formerly located on the corner of Montgomery and San Fernando streets near the SAP Center and the San Jose Diridon Station. Over the next 30+ years it went through several name changes including "O’Neill & Krickeberg Liquor", "Corda's Restaurant" and the "Depot Inn Tavern" before reverting to the "Patty's Inn" name in 1971. In 1987, regular patrons Mike Gathers, a former Southern Pacific railroad engineer and co-worker Dave DiSalvo purchased the property, though the land still belonged to Pat's son Roy Krickeberg. Palmer's Bar
Palmer's Bar is a dive bar and music venue located in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Known for its strong drinks, the bar serves as a live music venue at night. The bar was founded in 1906 and has had over a dozen owners. A speakeasy during the Prohibition Era, the bar is rumored to have once had a secret tunnel connecting it to 5 Corners Saloon (vacant as of 2022). In the 1930s, it was named Carl's Bar and a brothel operated upstairs. The bar was named Palmer's in 1950 by then owner Henry Palmer. A Mr. Folta ran the bar from 1959 to 1975. Pal's Shanty Tavern
Pal's Shanty Tavern refers to a pair of dive bars in Portland, Oregon. Northeast Portland The original bar opened in northeast Portland's Hollywood neighborhood in the 1960s. It "had a small-town vibe, with wood-paneled walls, neon beer signs and a cast of friendly regulars", operating in a building which had screened silent films as Elite Theatre from 1914 to 1921. The building was designed by Roberts and Roberts, and was also later known as Rose City Park and the Rose City. The bar's menu included soft-shell clams, Parmesan garlic bread, and beer. It closed in 2013, due to arson, and was replaced by a Hot Lips Pizza. Two men were arrested for starting the fire, one of whom was an employee. My Father's Place is a restaurant and dive bar in the Buckman neighborhood of Portland, Oregon.
